Picked up 2 Heller 1/35 kits up off EB, the first a Renault R35 that comes with a 25 mm Hotchkiss anti-tank gun and figures and the second this little beauty, a Inflatable and three frogmen, the kit has been started but its just part of one frogman and the main halfs of the boat but the glue he's used comes apart easy  ;D ;D ;D

I picked up an ebay win from a local buyer; a Matchbox 1/72 Lysander, thus adding to my modest stash of spatted aircraft!!  ;D

Also, today in the mail was a canopy and windshield for my Monogram 1/48 Intruder, courtesy of the generosity of GaryF.  Thanks Gary!!!!
So I got that going for me...which is nice....

Something to build in the months away from the wife and kids:

Eduard Sopwith Camel, Lindberg Jenny, and a Bristol Nightfighter--all for whiffing and one in full ''Quadratyre" upgrades along with the recommended Marconi Radio Location device with cooling tubes.

From ebay:

1. Set of metal u/c for the Revel/matchbox Mystere IV. Never played with aftermarket bits before and it was dead cheap, so....

2. Airfix Skyvan   . Slightly started, but not spoilt. Possibly to be done as "White Skyvan Man": double-glazing racks, ladders, buckets, "clean me" in the dirt on the back......

Captain Canada

144th scale RoG Challenger. Figure it'll be CCG, red w/ white. Maybe a BS story about 'dogfighting' with Danish examples over the far North.

Weave, you might want to have a look at this one Mike Wren did a while back for some inspiration:

I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

Hahaha  ;D ;D ;D: that's a bit more ambitious than I intended - nothing new under the sun, eh?

I'd never seen that thread: my inspiration came from a more recent Skyvan thread. I was also considering an OV-10BZ-style jet pod on top, vaguely remembering a Top Gear gag from years ago where, no matter what exotic sports car they had, there was always an White Van Man overtaking them in the outside lane......

I've got two - my intention is to save one for the Sovietize-it GB and lightly dress it up as a Yak-something-or-other. No idea what I'll do with the other or when.

The wheel set is Aeroclub, by the way. The same vendor also had a vac-form canopy, but it went beyond what I was prepared to pay.

As an aside to this thread, can anyone else remember quite a few years ago, talking 70's I think, someone made a full size carbon fibre shell of a transit van and mounted it on an F1 chassis.  They found when they ran it, that it was only a few mph slower than the F1 car as normal, which surprised quite a few people.  I think it appeared on Tomorrow's World or something like that.

Unusual stashing day for me today: no ebay and all new!

1. Got out of work early and went to Cheshire Models for some spray paint and Evergreen, and bought a RoG 1/144th F-14D, thinking the swing wings might be useful for a project. Looking at it, I'm not sure they will be actually, but it's a very nice kit for 1/144th and £3.80. Dunno whether to keep it for swaps or nick the dinky little Pheonix off it and scaleorama them to 1/72nd (JMN - "what version of Falcon is that?".......)

2. Decided to go on to the Trafford Centre, since someone had told me there was a model shop in there. Turned out to be a rather small branch of Model Zone with limited stock, but I did pick up a RoG 1/72nd Flitzer for £4.00. Since I go cold at the sight of RLM numbers and since I've just bought a pile of grey paint for the Migina, I'm toying with the idea of building it OOB and spraying it grey for the Grey Pride GB. Might not have the time though....

3. Stopped by Tesco on the way home and picked up a bottle of Klear (Future), having finally twigged that it's NOT a modelling product.....

4. Got home to find that finally, FINALLY, my Smer Me262 and Airfix Landrover had arrived from Model Hobbies. The saga is over.....
