Hey, I bought a model.

Had a $5 coupon left over from my birthday for Douglas Models so stopped in today and on the used pack, found the Airfix Lightning F3.  Ok, probably not the greatest kit but now I have the start for my LSR Group build.
Still need some sponsor decals though.

Oh yeah, final cost after tax, 53 cents.

My long pre ordered Airfix Nimrod arrived from Hannants.

I always hope for the best.
Unfortunately,
experience has taught me to expect the worst.

Airfix 1/72 Centurion, Monk Bar Models again, I'm getting to be a regular at that place!
I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

2 Airfix Nimrods from TAHS. Excellent.

The Lovely Wife got me a $100 gift certificate from the LHS for Valentine's Day, so today I paid them a visit.  I browsed for a long time eyeing a RoG 1/48 Toom FGR.2, a Tamiya Meteor, and a BIG Trump. F-105.  Strangely I ended up leaving with something different for me-a 1/48 Tamiya F-16CJ from the new arrivals shelf.  I rarely buy a top-of-the-line, expensive kit, and I'm not the worlds biggest F-16 fan, but for some reason this one caught my eye.  Looking through the bos I really must say the engineering and detail look amazing.

I was going to add the FGR.2 and a Academy Hunter to the haul, but decided to hold on to the rest of the $$ when I found out the owner is expecting 3 four-engined-jet-powered-sub-hunting-thingies from England next week.  :o

I did visit Hobby Lobby too, where I picked up a 1/48 Academy F-16A/C from the clearance shelf for $8.  Obviously it doesnt compare to the Tamiya kit, but it's nice for $8 and includes a pair of GEPOD 30mm gun pods that will be handy for whiffing!

So I got that going for me...which is nice....
