Airfix Gazelle from ebay. Thought I might be able to use it to make a new cockpit for the Belvedere, but it looks like it's a bit too small.

could hacking about with a CH-46 nose and cockpit work at all?

Nope - most helos, including the CH-46, either have circular or "rounded square" cross-section fuselages. The Belvedere had an egg-shaped one, which as far as I know was unique. I thought the Gazelle's "small oval" section might be adaptable. It still might, but it would be as much work as some of the more exotic options.....

Maybe a front end from the Italeri OH-6 could be persuaded to fit?  It's a bit more of an oval-square than most & has a larger frontal area than the Gazelle.  AZ are due out a MD 500E & MD 500MD for a different look, but might be a pretty penny for something your going to butcher.

Another possibility is if you can find either a Heller or Fujimi 1/48 Gazelle, good luck though!
I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

That's worth looking at - cheers!

The 1/48th ones would be too big: the difference in width isn't that great, and if it was a solid engine cowling rather than a glazed cockpit then I wouldn't hesitate to spread the back out a little and fill the gaps. Bit trickier with a clear roof panel though... (doable, but tricky). Since the roof panel has a Y-shaped glazing bar down the middle, one option might be to split the roof panel down it's length, fill in the gap, and paint the newly seamed bit in between the arms of the Y solid.

Looks like the Bo-105 might have possibilities too.....

From Squadron's great sale on Roden:  a pair 1/32 Fokker F.1s with the intent to give it the treatment that so many Harley-Davidson's have been getting on TV....think more Old School or Rat Bike (or in this case, Rat Tripe) rather than Gonzo Art Bike.

at the model club last night....

hobbyboss typhoon F2, F-86F-40 [luftwaffe and JASDF markings], he-162

these were all at £4.50 each, which is quite a bargain! having looked at the tiffie i was
wondering what if any of the tiffie kits there have been that hobbyboss may have
looked at when cutting their moulds as it reminds me of the 1/72 italeri kit a bit.
