Tamiya 1/48 Fw 190 F8/F9 with bomb loading trolley and arming crew. Nice selection of weapons inc. 8cm Panzershreks. Will be a real world bird - possibly Hungarian

And finally at last !!!! Hobby Boss 1/72 Mig 15 - been trying to get this since it came out. Even at Telford they sold out before I could get to the stands  :banghead: Have plans for this and she will be my Christmas build

this is Perhaps the last model i bought for 2008

1/72 Mastercraft F-16A RNLAF "Dirty Diana".

the kit is kinda crappy, but i bought it for the decals alone for the "dutch F-16 replacement GB" on modelbrouwers.nl
the model itself will be used for the upcoming "Sovietise It GB" as a Soviet MIG-26  ;D

Had to go back up to Hannants today for a much needed decal sheet and ended up with the following.

1/48th squadron code letters in sky, for a BoB build I'm doing for my brother
1/72 - British Pacific Fleet roundels
1/72 - post war red/blue roundels and fin flashes - need to replace the (almost) used up original set

KITS - the biggest haul for months

Airfix Strikemaster
Xtrakit Harrier FA2 - only one they had so I wasn't letting it go. Was surprised to see just how basic a kit it is, with only drop tanks for underwing danglie bits.
Arifix Gripen - wanted another one of these for ages

Again, was very disappointed with amount and selection of kits they had there. There was a LOT of duplication of kits, of certain types and that also made the variety of kits disappointingly limited as well.

Postie dropped off a Hannants back order yesterday -

Eduard mask for the Pe-8 - if ever a kit needed a mask then it's this one  :banghead:

Another Hobby Boss Mig 15 !!!! Forgot I'd ordered it but that they'd sold out and it was on back order, so now after waiting 2/3 months 2 kits in 2 days  ;D

Interesting sign of the times though. Hannants honoured the price that I'd ordered the origional kit at - £3.99 ; Cost of kit at Modelzone on Friday - £4.50.  13% increase in a couple of months, probably right when comparing sterling's fall to the $. Hannants have now removed all prices from future releases and sold out items. Understandable form their point of view.

Well, I bought a 1/32 Revell Junkers Ju-88 today and its a fabulous looking kit even unbuilt in the box, if it was by Tamiya or Hasegawa it would be about £120 instead of the £30, it really is a nice looking kit.
If I was wearing a hat I'd take it off to Revell

This is probably my last intake of the year - my Xmas present to myself. Thanks to evilbay a Mach 2 NA B-45 Tornado . Supposed to be a pig of a kit and a filler magnet but we all like a challenge don't we !

Now if I can only slip it under the outer wire and past the guard towers I may just get away with it if she-who-must-be-obeyed-at-christmas is full of the festive spirit.

If it's anything like their A2J Savage kit, you'll swear off model-building for a year or longer after attempting it.  I've looked at mine, thought about how good it'd look when finished, then promptly put it back in the stash knowing full well it'd probably break me.

For my stash, it's been quiet for the last six months, other than some 1/72 F-4's (1 Italeri F-4S, 1 Revell F-4F), a Hasegawa 1/72 AV-8B+, a Testor's 1/72 B-66, and a 1/72 Revell C-160 Transall.

Santa brought me*....

a 1/35 Trumpeter C1 Ariete up-armoured Italian MBT,
a 1/35 Trumpeter VRC-105 (Spanish) Centauro)
a 1/72 Trumpeter BAC Lightning F.6 and
a 1/72 Academy F-16 Viper ROKAF.

Ain't Santa a nice guy?  Of these, I think only the Lightning will be a WhIf (one of Richard's Burkina Faso Lightnings ). Maybe the Viper as well, but I'm not sure.

Forgot:
Three 1/72 Model Aliiance decal sheets:
Arctic Tigers Part 3
BAe Hawk in worldwide service
Jaguar in worldwide service

I think the Zimbabwean roundels from the Hawk set may eventually go on a Trumpeter J-10 (blame Richard!) and the Nigerian roundels from the Jaguar sheet may go on a late-mark Skyhawk.....

Well nothing arrived today except a bit of good news. The 1/72nd An-72 which went missing in the post turned up back at Hannants today with a "not collected" sticker on it courtesy of the *@#%ing Post Office. You don't really need me to tell you that we NEVER had a card through the door for it, do you?  :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:  Still, at least it's in one piece and will be on it's way back to me in the New Year.....

I went around a couple of LHS this afternoon, but only bought supplies. I nearly bought a Revell 1/100th Easykit Harrier GR.7 because it's spectacularly wrong colour scheme (pre-Falklands Sea Harrier ) was exactly what I'd dreamed up all on my own as a movie-prop Whiff (see Sovietise it GB thread). However, Mr. I-know-nothing-about-planes-or-kits who me and the shop assistant were trying to help with a purchase for his nephew eventually decided that the pseudo-SHAR and a yellow Luftwaffe test-Phantom were the best choices "because they're the only ones that arn't boring grey" (promising....), so I missed it. What the hell - it's Christmas - hope the kid enjoys it.....

chrisonord

thanks to ebay, I got a kit I have been after replacing for quite a while. Italeri SR-75 and XR-7 thunderdart, 15 quid, and seen as he was local I went and picked it up saving postage and also getting some bargains in the process. Italeri F-18f £5 and an Airfix mig-21 £2!!!
Also from Hobbycraft an Italeri Hawk 100 for £3.50, and the Airfix Falklands war collection for £16!! I will be offering the Harriers and possibly the Skyhawk for trade pretty soon if anyone is interested,

My dad and I exchanged gifts tonight -- gonna be nuts tomorrow at the family do. Dad gave me the Trumpeter LAV-C2 command variant. Awesome.
