Payday today! Picked me up a 1/48 Trumpeter MiG-19S. Already got the decals pulled out to do this:

although I think I'll add some International Red wing markings and such.

Or I could do this (if I'm feeling ambitious):

I like the camo one, but whatever, it should be disgustingly filthy. miGs are always dirty.

All the way from Taiwan thanks to the Bay of E...

1/72 scale IDF Ching Kuo. Kit is rather basic, but shape is accurate, 45 parts in total and a good basis for whiffing. Although Kiddyland (the manufacturer!) need to sack those folks they hired who used to dig trenches for Matchbox.....

This one will be SAAF, and I think I may well get me a few more, including the two seater.

cheers

I got that one. I've hgot it planned as a captured one used by the PLAAF as an agressor machine.

After a long week in 737 class I treated myself to a couple of models today:  a 1/72 Trumpeter F-105D and a 1/72 Hase Prowler.
So I got that going for me...which is nice....

Good Evening Ya'll
So I had returned to one of the local hobby shops that I buy my model kits from, I was in search of ANY 1:144 scale AWACS aircraft, but was told they have none, but there are some out there, so I ended up browsing around the selection of models, and I found a kit that caught my attention..
I had built a B-52H, I think it was from DRAGON and I was not a fan of it, the build sucked...I didn't even paint it in the end..That is how disappointed I was in it...Its now sitting in a box with the 1:144 scale kits I have yet to build...which are all TOMCATS...anyway...The kit I found amongst the other kits, was this;

A Revell B-52H Stratofortress in 1:144 Scale...

http://www.hobbiesr.com/rmx/rmx-401/rmx855854.htm

See ABOVE url for picture of finished model...This kit looks pretty impressive...anyone build it?

I built one of these a few years back. I don't recall any problems and it was a fun project. I'm sure some of the "accuracy nuits" out there will find stuff to nit-pick, but it sure looks like a B-52 to me!

Since almost all of my models join the ceiling fleet, I built it gear up. Building it gear down might be a bit challenging. Your mileage may vary.

Ships...   I bought more ships...  what's wrong with me?  I never finish them, yet I buy more?!

From a LHS:

1x Trumpeter 1/700 USS Iowa 1980's refit
1x Trumpeter 1/700 USS New Jersey 1980's refit
1x Dragon 1/700 USS Mustin

From eBay:
1x Nichima 1/900 (ish) USS Iowa "Faces II" kit (stupid thing about this kit is the beam on it is exactly the same as a 1/720 Revell USS Missouri...  And the bow is too short...  almost like they took a 1/720 South Dakota kit and did this conversion...)

And from Jeffry:
4x Testor's/Italeri YF-23's
2x Testor's XR-7's

Thanks again, Jeff!

Received today from the Great Models Webstore fire sale:

1/72 "Flasback" (Eduard?) Sopwith 1 B1 bomber

1/72 RoG S.E. 5a

1/72 MSP Polikarpov I-15 with spats!

1/72 Academy P-40B "Flying Tigers"

and two bottles of paint and some model railroad wire that might work for rigging.

I also raided a Michael's craft store and got some foil for BMF and a bunch of acrylic craft paints. I'm trying to see if I can use these instead of the little bottles of Model Masters, Polly-Scale, etc. With the craft paint, you get 2 1/2 times as much for 7 times less cost.

From the LHS in Camberley, a Revell Panther G in 72nd and a couple og poys of the new humbrol acrylic paints, black and silver. The silver mixed up pretty thic, but went on fine when some thinner was added to it.

Brian,
the craft paints are great... especially for hand-brushing, however, they are best applied over a primer as some brands don't like bare plastic. While pricey, the Tamiya grey or super-fine white primer in the rattlecan are the best, but cheapo auto primer also works.

Cheers,

Valom 1/72 YFM-1 Airacuda and Zvezda 1/100 "Conquistador's Ship" (Nao San Gabriel), both to be reviewed for Internet Modeler. Chris Banyai-Riepl, the publisher of Internet Modeler, thinks the Nao would look good in USN Measure 41;D

Lindbergh 1/48th Snark, the airframe of which will be used for Whiffing, the launch stand and booster rockets will be used for a Secret ZELL project.  ;D
