Best of luck to you Trevor! It's good to hear things have turned a nioce corner for you.

Arrived today via the courtesy of Aeroplane Driver and the amazing generosity of Toolslinger, a 1/32 Williams Bros. Curtiss Sparrowhawk! This vintage kit is a real gem and I'm going to have an absolute blast building it! I only hope I can do it justice as I don't think I've ever built in such a large scale before.

Thanks again gentlemen! If there's ever anything I can do for either of you, please let me know. You have my gratitude!

Trev, glad to hear it!  All the best mate!

Bri, how about scalorama-ing it into a 1/72 bomber or mailplane?
I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

Ane more addition late today in the post from JSchmus...perhaps the best value 1/72 kit available today, a RoG Hunter F.6.

So I got that going for me...which is nice....

Is it really that good? Tamigawa+ quality?

AeroplaneDriver

In my opinion it's not just the quality, but the price.  The kit fit and detail is superb, but it can be had for $17-18 on the shop shelves here in the US and for 9 pounds in the UK.  Quality may be slightly less than the latest Tamigawa stuff, but the price is a lot less too.  To me it's just about a perfect kit.  Another that fits this bill to me is the Tamiya 1/72 F4D Skyray.  It's a superb kit and retails in the US for around $15.
So I got that going for me...which is nice....

RevellG Flitzer in 1/72nd - with the idea of a Seeflitzer (from Tragerflotten)

Saw the box art and it lays a pet theory to rest ! I couldn't remember seeing box art with a US aircraft being shot down on - probably 100's, just getting memory selective as I get older  :banghead:

Nice kit though and I'll pick one up next week
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

Hey hey Trev!

2009 Nats are in Columbus, OH. From everything I've heard, the Columbus, OH IPMS chapter did a real bang-up job the last time they hosted and '09 should be no excepetion. Columbus is halfway between Tom and I and we've discussed having a What-If table there. I'm rarin' to go and I'd encourage you to bring whatever whiffiness you think will make the trip and want to display.

We've also discussed a "From Distant Shores" display so our brothers in whiffness worldwide can submit projects for electronic display. I'd be thrilled to be able to return the kindness extended me by the U.K. What-If SIG and their R.A.F. 100 group.

It would indeed be a treat to meet you Mr Effingham!

Trevor,

PM me when you get your plans sorted out.  If you want to travel around the US I should be able to get you some cheap tickets (assuming the employer hasnt gone out of business due to oil prices   :banghead: ).  If you make it down south we'll plan a get together and see some air museums in the area.  If not let me know where you're going to be and maybe I can fly out and say hello.

So I got that going for me...which is nice....
