Arrived last weekend, but only collected from the PO this morning, a Hasegawa (Limited Issue) Ju87B courtesy of our friend Mr. Aeroplane Driver - a swap for a Monogram 1:48 F-5E.

My accidental Iskra arrived today...

As per my post on Trainers with Teeth GB, I went to My Ebay to do something totally different, clicked on the wrong auction (a Novo FD.2 which I didn't win) by mistake, and then clicked on the "find similar auctions" by mistake AGAIN! And what popped up? A Master Craft Hobby Kits1/72nd scale PZL TS.11 Iskra 200, with no bids on it and 46 seconds to go. Not only is this a trainer that you don't see kits of every day, but it's the single-seat attack version to boot, with hardpoints and a 23mm! Cost? £3.85 including P&P.

It's a cracking little kit: nicely moulded and detailed, and has the option of single or twin seat versions, both with canopies that hinge (little kid Oooooh factor 10  ;D) It even has, wait for it, a detailed, 3-piece engine, even though there's no provision to see it when it's fitted! Only things I can see wrong now are abysmal crew figures (worst I've ever seen) and one or two sink marks in awkward places. The decals are crap too (a shame, since there's lots of them).

The Iglish on the instruction sheet is quite amusing:

"Construction - wings of double lifted construction, halfcrusted, endowed with ailerons, flaps with two chinks and aerodynamic brakes. The whole uplifted in chains on a trunk. Drive - one jest (sic) engine SO-3 or SO-3B of 981 daN. Armament - one steady 23mm gun at the front of trunk and nonguided missiles, guns, fuel tanks or bombs hanged on four underwing bounds."

;D

I will NOT be modifying this physically (although I'm tempted to find out how the bay opens in order to show off that engine) since it's quite obscure enough already, but I will probably do it in whiff colours of some small, possibly non-existent TPLAC.

Fokker D.VII dual combo
Albatri D.III Weekend kits (2)
Junkers D.1

Only one of the D.VII's is slated for a scale build.    But all building stops for the next 3 months or more due to an impending move.

Nothing model related on the Birthday front this year, but I did get a package from Twobobs.

Xtradecal 1/48 Hawk in RAF Service-My second copy of this sheet, but since I used the ETPS decals on my Mig I naturally needed another.
Xtradecal 1/72 Gloster Meteor F.8-I may or may not build one of my Meteors with RW markings, but this sheet has some lovely markings for Whifs in RaAF service (616 Sqn Skyhawk anyone?)
So I got that going for me...which is nice....

Succumbed to the dark side, Italeri 1/72 RQ-1B Predator.  Like I said before, damned pricey & I'm in the missus' dog house for paying a tenner for a thimble full of plastic.  Still, it'll be an easy build & a quick dry fit shows few problems, it'll be a good candidate for the weekend build if it goes ahead.  I'm pretty sure how I'll build it, one of two related schemes.....
I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

WWII Beaufighter scheme (like the current 19 Sqn Hawk in Spit colours) would be nice...   ;D

Hadn't thought of that, not a bad idea.  I'll think about that one.   Got me thinking further back as well, 39 Sqn first operated Be2's, hmmm, their 100th Anniversary coming up in 2016....

Latest IPMS/USA Review kit arrived this week, the Revell ARC-170 snap, prepainted.  I already have one in the stash (traded 6 Leggs Eggs to a bloke in England, I kid you not) that I want to detail the interior, add landing gear, etc (might use the aftermarket set if I can get one or do my own) so my daughter might build this one or if she waits too long, I will just put it together.

I also got the TwoBobs decals for the Arctic Vipers (purchased) and the Chilean Vipers (Review, all 3 scales).  Need to pick up one of the Revell Raptors for the Arctic version and find someone who wants to trade 32nd Chilean for 72nd Polish ones.  Oh and someone who wants the 48th scale sheet.
