Meanwhile as daughter is now frakking decoratng  :banghead: :banghead: I went to Midland Counties at Hinckley...only it ain't there! poo-poo!! It's moved!!
So round to talk to Simon in the model shop, and Sainsbury's have bought the site so he's moving too. Nothing there of interest either.
So, off to the pub to buy something else...food + liquid.

Meanwhile....Dragon...will appear at  Avon.

Meanwhile...get the thread on track or the chappies in charge will be delivering slaps on wrists!! :drink:

Im told Midland counties have relocated to Nottingham Rad. and they are no longer open to the public...its just a distubtion centre now. (rumor has it operated by a contractor)
I always hope for the best.
Unfortunately,
experience has taught me to expect the worst.

I went to the IPMS Nats in Virginia Beach this afternoon.  This was my first time at a big model show.  I'll be posting my photos later, but this thread is just for acquisitions, and I cleaned up.

All 1/72

Emhar F3H Demon
Hasegawa Aircraft Weapons I: US Bombs and Rocket Launchers
Hasegawa OV-1 Mohawk (bagged without decals or instructions)
Heller Alphajet
Heller Saab J21A
Humbrol Harrier TM4
Revell Yak-38 Forger

plus 2 anonymous bagged kits, without decals or instructions

OV-10 Bronco (molded in olive drab)
Lysander (grey plastic, bag labeled Made in England; Airfix, maybe?)

I also picked up a sheet of 1/72 decals from a new outfit called Possum Werks, which is, incidentally, run by a gentleman who used to work at the Hobby Town in Pineville, NC.  The decals are for four B-24Ds which took part in the Ploesti raid of 1943.  I don't own a 1/72 Liberator, or indeed any large four-engined bombers, but the decals look nice, and maybe I can co-opt them for some other project.

Mmmmm, Saab J21!  What's the Heller kit like?  I'd like to get hold of the J21R especially, if I can find it.

With the Lizzie, if it's grey sprue, it's most likely Airfix, possibly one of the FROG Spawn.  The Matchbox has the good old multi colour sprue, brown & green.  Easiest way to tell, the Airfix kit has a spy!
I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

Jason, That Heller J-21 is a beauty of a kit! Goes together well and it's really finely molded.

Got a Heller 1/48 F4U-7 for my SA Navy build pile :) Surprised by how nice the decals are and am now thinking of building a Frog F-4J hmmmm....

Picked up the Airfix/MPM Pucara at Camberley this afternoon along with another bottle of accelerater and a couple more fine brushes. Was sorely tempted to get the JB Models/Airfix 105mm Light Gun as well, but I passed on it.
