I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

Now u pair are realy showing your ages.........

From E day in Prague.
HR Resin Renard R38
HR Resin Renard R40
HR Resin Renard R42
In total all 3 cost me less than half what it would have getting them in the UK.

and I also gained 3 Eduard Nieuport Ni-17's. These were the free kit u were given each time you paid to get in. althou the 3rd one i was given free by the organisors as i was helping a trader (ADH publishing).

Word of note on prices in the czech rep.  home grown kits/extras ect can be cheaper than getting them in the UK, but imported stuff tends to be very simler in price to the UK. so there are bargins to be had but not if your looking for that must have tamigawa(for example) kit
I always hope for the best.
Unfortunately,
experience has taught me to expect the worst.

Aye, not getting any younger!  I've wondered a couple of times about 'Musical whiffs', there's a handful of songs about with aircraft references.  We're Going to Barbados Coconut Airways was one that always perked my ears up (whiff wise the song drives me slightly nuts!), obviously Mr Parkes has een listening to the same song!

The other one I always thought would make a good dio is Slades 'Wheels Ain't Comin' Down'.  There's a line that goes 'it was a 1950's prop job, that had seen much better days'.  IIRC it's a this really happened to Slade on their attempt to crack the US, they were booked on a dodgy airline & they real thought they were going to die a rock & roll plane crash death.  I just imagine a battered 1/144 DC-4, with suitably modded N gauge railway rock band figures, boarding the plane & one of them giving a pool of hydraulic fluid a curious glance.....

Then (I'm thinking too much) there's 'Rock the Casbah' reference to the jetfighter pilots tuning in.  I always imagined some kind of generic cold war fighter with generic arabic markings with the pilot with a tranny radio on the coaming!

Finnish national transfers
1/48 HR model Avia B.534 Transfers

Plus three books, one on the Beaufighter, one on the Avia B.534 and one on the T-27 tank

Well worth going, some great deals such as the Eduard Avia B.534 was half price and if you ever go to Prague you have to go to the Wings Club with is a Czech Air Force theme restaurant at Lucemburska 11, food is excellent, you will never go hungry with the portions and its cheap too. :drink:

ps, already saving up to go back next year  ;D
pps, almost forgot after you've payed the entry fee for the show they were handing out Eduard kits so on the Saturday I got the double 1/144 Avia S-92 (Me262) kit and on the Sunday a Nieuport Ni-17  ;D

From E-Day

AML Fiat G-50 with skis

Then Steve and Chris went back for day 2 and bought me an Amodel SU-11 cos I wouldn't buy it on the first day, Cheers!

I also got a 1/48th Moko Morane from the MPM shop for £7! ;D

From Kbely Museum
Smer Hoplite in 1/48th a "Klicklack" kit ie. a snap togeather kit for kids but has potential.

Jschmus

This has to be the first time I've ever bought back a model I sold to someone but when I saw them go on offer, I had to reacquire them,  From Jeffry Fontaine:

1/35 Tamiya JGSDF Light Armored Vehicle
1/35 Tamiya JGSDF Iraq Humanitarian Assistance Team

NARSES2

Back from Prague with the following additions to the stash

Eduard 1/72 Albatross V & Nuieport Ni 17 - these were my "free" entry kits

1/72 AZ Models Breda Ba65 A80 - Spanish Civil War markings
1/72 AZ Models Breda Ba65 A80 - North African markings : looking at Hannants I saved about £5 each on these

1/72 RS Do 17K

1/72 Vallom Hampden Mk I

1/48 AZ Models Firefly F1/FR I - always refused to pay the UK price but the Czech price was irresistable

1/72 Techmod Transfers - SU25, just for the tail marking of a Frog smashing a tank with a hammer  ;D
Fokker XXI markings - for my Spifire GB build, Mustang MK III RAF, Wildcat IV for a Miles M20 I'm building.

Xtrakit Meteor T7 was out but not my thing

Very good show. Prices were interesting for Central and Eastern European kits. Approx £4/£5 lower for 1/72 and up to half price on 1/48. Very noticable that the differential between 1/72 & 1/48 was not as high as in the UK. Resin kits were variable - Martin got a great deal on HR but others were very near UK prices.

Kleby Air museum was fantastic, especially the 1919 through 1945 collection - oh the 534, Spad and the IL 2

Prague has to be one of the most beautiful cities I've been to and is thoroughly reccommended, if only because there are 4 model shops in a square mile !

Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.
