Also from HMW were an Italeri Hawk 100 and a Revell Flizer.

How is it Geoff?

Eh ?, the Italeri 1/72 Hawk 100 has been out for years as its in the Aussie delivery scheme and Flizer is just another revell reissue. I suppose your thinking the Hawk was in 1/48th scale Nev ?

What they did have Nev was the Bronco Staghound III, the Humber with twin Vickers and the 1940 A-13 Cruiser tank which should all appeal to yopu with your birthday money

Haven't been adding to the stash too much recently, then got all weak one evening and clicked-onto eBay..... (breaking-strength of a Kit-Kat as a colleague of mine calls it !)

Ended-up with two Hawk T1's and an old 1:48 Xtradecal sheet for 'early' RAF Hawks.

A Fujimi 1:72 'RAF' release and an Airfix 1:48 one. Both will be Whiffed to within an inch of their lives. Will be hunting-out an Airfix Hawk 100 over the next coupla weex, to do some dubious cross-kitting for the bigger one.

Also dug-out my part started 'real world' Airfix Hawk from a few years back - man the fit of the intakes is poor, and if you cut the flaps 'down' as I have the fit of the wing/fuselage is just dreadful - NEV did you have any probs when you built your two ??, or am I just unlucky and/or cr*p at building

Courtesy of William of Oz (Luft46models), I'm now the proud owner of Unicraft's Junkers SFP.  The kit is almost completed construction-wise, so I can't really comment about it's quality or otherwise, but looks like a brilliant little ship either way and a very pleasant surprise given the vitriol that's usually reserved for Unicraft by some.

Add to that, the instruction sheet gives a rather nice 3-view, so expect some SFPs in the near future on my profile thread.

Thanks again William!!!

Regards,

Mav

Hi Mav

I agree the viriol can be a bit harsh. Personally I like Unicraft, I just wish he could get some decent resin - it's the quality or lack of which can cause construction problems. You just have to tread very slowly and carefully thats all. Although once I've built one I normally need a fair break before I build another, and yes the 3 views in his latest stuff are great.

Looking forward to seeing pics

Chris

The excellent BlackOps took me to his LHS here in Fresno.500 times better than mine back in Dallas. I scored a sweet 1/32 scale F-22 for 25 bucks.
The dang thing is 26 1/2 inches long :o
I was also given a cool MiG 37 Ferret from the stash of the too cool Jeff G. ;D

A couple of 1/48 Special Hobby kits arrived via the man with the red van, a Mil Mi-1 and a Gloster E.28/39 plus two 1m lengths of Perspex tube, 34mm and 40mm dia for the 1/35 DDR Watch towers I'm doing  ;D

From the ebay fairy:

1/72 RoG Grippen-I was thinking this would be the same as the Italeri kit, but it's not.  Now I see why it was so cheap!  Still, it might be good for kitbashing a 1970s BAe lightfighter...

1/48 Tamiya F4D-lovely!!!
So I got that going for me...which is nice....

Airfix Harrier GR.3 from ebay. Nominally to become some thing silly for the Gerry Anderson GB, if it ever gets in.

Had my semi-annual restock of the stash from Squadron with the following:

Concord Special Ops Vols 15 & 41
Aeromaster Whispering Death Pt 2 (72nd)
Superscale F/A-18C/D (VFA-86 & VMFA(AW)-242) (72nd)

72nd Scale

Airfix Bloodhound Set
Airfix Islander/Defender
Airfix LCVP
Airfix Lysander
Heller Mirage IVA
Amodel Ka-226A

35th Scale

Warriors Commonwealth Infantryman, Tropical Dress
Emhar WW1 German Artillery & Crew
Emhar WW1 British Artillery & Crew
Italeri German Shock Troops
Italeri MTM Barchino
Mirage Ford Tc Armoured Car
Mirage MMGS Scout Car
Mirage Vickers E Mk A Twin Turret Tank
Zvezda BA-3 Armoured Car

Unfortunately, the primary reason for the spend (ie: 35th scale Italeri SLC-200 Maiale) is on back order  :banghead:

But anyhoo, happy Mav

Well, they're a bit basic - to use Bill Clarks favourite euphemism "they need a bit of work", but I found them to be a good, simple kit.  For a tenner you can't go wrong, and I thoroughly enjoyed my two.

Small wants, and those easily satisfied. I picked up a pair of Frog Wyverns and a Heller J 21 at the Austin
Model show this weekend-five bucks apiece, along with the ancient Profile for the SAAB, which includes
coverage of the J 21R...and two armor pamphlets ( Almark? I can't remeber the publisher at the moment, but
each issue was about eight pages, four sets of plan views and a short history of the vehicles, along with
the technical specs. ) one with very nice  plans for the mighty T-28*, the other with nice views of the A 9
cruiser. ( Not as buff as the T 35, nor as German as the Neubaufahrzeug, but it was multi-turret, and it did see
a bit of service...)

* The massive US SPG, not the Russian multi-turret medium tank.

Aircav

Picked up a Games Workshop Giant today and a Revell 1/72 Hurricane IIc for the RAF build

The ebay fairy brought a rare purchase for me; a ship!
