1/100th scale F-14 by "Hobby Model Kits" courtesy of ebay. Chinese-made, with English stickers over the Chinese titles on the box and artwork that's worse than the kit. The actual aircraft is quite nicely detailed and could make a decent model with a little work, but it has "kiddie" features like chunky one-piece undercarriage and an eccentric and innaccurate collection of missiles ("3/4" AIM-54s -  :rolleyes:).

So why did I buy it? Because I only want it to nick the swing wings for something else and it was £2.00, that's why!  ;D :thumbsup:

2 x 1/72nd Heller Cl-415.......has "215" engines too, so some can "update" the Beriev Be-6s I've recently acquired.
1 x Italeri Ca-311 for the Biggles Collection :wacko:

Nice kit the CL-215/415 but watch out for the main undercarriage, it can bend a bit after a while...........unless I put to much nose weight in  ;D

Just picked up a ERTL/AMT Lost in Space (Movie) Robot off EB for a tenner, with the parts still sealed in the bags.

Another Matchbox Meteor NF.11/12/14 from ebay, this time in the RoG boxing. Didn't expect to win it to be honest, but got it for a fiver - they usually go for about twice that!

Also an Airwaves PE detail set for the Airfix Seahawk. Impulse purchase, since I logged on to ebay and there it was, with 50secs to go... Will contribute to the bombhawk project...

Airfix DH Heron. Saw it on a vendor's table at a show today and had to grab it, it was possibly the first model I ever built, if it wasn't the Airfix Defiant. It will probably not be whiffed, and if I find another I'm tempted to do a Saunders ST-27.

Rat, Airfix have floated around their Civil Aircraft Collection for a few years now, it includes a Heron, a Ford Trimotor & a Beaver.  You can occasionally pick the set up a little cheaply too.  I'm sure you'll find some use for the Beaver & stick some floats on the Trimotor!



A couple for me from PS Models in York, an Airfix 1/72 Hawker Sea Fury & a Revell 1/72 DHC-6 Twotter.

Yeah, saw one at Aviation World a while back, cost a lot more than $10 though! Hmmm, floats on a Trimotor...

I reckon you should be able to pick the set up for less than $40, not a lot more than $10 per kit, that is if your worried about the other two.
