You sure it's actually got a radome in it? I've got the An-72-allegedly-P version of that, which is very accurate apart from the fact that it's got no gunpod, no wing pylons and no sensors. Basically, it's a standard An-72 with one extra blister window and a cammo scheme on the instruction sheet......... :banghead:

That's strange Weaver, mine has all the parts, they're on seperate sprues, there's two honking big bombs too.

I think the Wimpey AWACS you are all referring to is this one on Britmodeller :)

Nev,

THAT'S IT! :)

Well done, but I dunno how I saw it, just now was the first time I've ever logged onto that site. Weird....

Well done Nev, how I missed that one over there I don't know   :banghead:

Yep, and a few extra windshields, clear nose, and some tiny clear bits that don't appear on the instruction sheet:

D'oh!  I just realized you're talking about a different scale ------ (note to myself -- must pay more attention)

Fair enough!  ;D

You've got almost the same as me, but with a different fuselage sprue. One of those little clear bits is the -P's blister window.

I was thinking of doing it as a gunship and mounting it on a dayglow-orange wire which goes from one of the gun ports to a "splash" on a diorama base......

Don't beat yourself up - I bought the thing thinking it was a bargain 1/72nd one.......   :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: (entirely my own fault - the auction was clear and correct.....)

I now allegedly have a 1/72nd one on the way from Hannants, although it's taking it's time getting here.......

You sure about that?  Airfix have their own low back Spit mould in 48th and I'm pretty sure it was released only for Airfix Club members.

Yes I have one too (joined the club just to get it) it's as good as their Mk.22/24 with many of the interior bits that look the same.
