Coupla decal sheets from eBay. Model Alliance 1:48 sheet for the Hurricane - some very unusual subjects mixed-in with some more usual items. Particularly like the 335(Greek) Sqn IIc in desert scheme but with part Greek squadron codes, and the SAAF OTU aircraft in a peculiar two-tone green camo, blue undersides and huge yellow trainer bands !

Second sheet is a rare Aeromaster 1:48 for early 100 FS USAAF (Tuskeegee Airmen). A P-39 and three P-47's all very colourful. Although the P-39 doesn't have a red tail, it does have yellow theatre bands around the wings and a red spinner and huge two-digit side numbers. All the P-47's have red tails and spinners and yellow theatre bands. One is in OD/Neutral Grey the other two in NMF.

All RW, I know, so wont say too much more.

Well this months early Xmas celebration started with a 1/72 Hasegawa Crusader (a swap with Chrisonord - thank you very much) but today I received the 1/72 HobbyBoss N/AW A-10 Thunderbolt II 2 seater, the TA-7C Corsair and the A-7H Tigermeet Corsair - £9 each which I didn't think was bad.

Haven't opened the boxes yet as I have to smuggle them passed the wife (bit like airport security). I guess I'm going to get caught since I promised her no further purchases this year ! Happy days !
Hya Andy,
Where did you get the TA-7 from?? I was thinking about one of those in 1/72nd myself. A-7 are one of my favourite aircraft, and a twin seater would make a good OA-7 in my task force.
Cheers,
Chris.

You should be able to get the Hobbyboss kits of the A-7's from Transport Models in Preston

Cheers for that Geof, I have looked at the A-7's in there, as I go in there to and from my mothers house, to buy paint etc.
They can be a bit expensive on the kits, and I think if I remember correctly, the A-7's were 12 quid each. A bit much in my eyes for such a low tech model.

Well I went into my nearest LMS today on my way home from seeing my Mum in Hossy, I was looking at the Revel 72nd scale vehicles, and noticed the Dingo APC had a £4.00 price ticket on it, all the other vehicles that were in the stack were £7, and that is how much I paid for one off the net, so I asked the owners is that right?? and it was so I had it!! like you do. I was originally looking for some suitable vehicles to have diasembarking the Mi-26 I got recently, but the Dingo side tracked me.

Hya Geof,
What I meant was is that the corsair is quite an old subject to model, I thing nearly all the major kit makers have done at least one version of it,and all at varying prices.

Having now opened the A-7 kits (the Missus was out last night) all I can say is I'm glad the sprues are all in plastic bags, saves wiping the drool off the parts ! 8 separate bags in each kit ! Loads of stores and details and the decal sheet for the A-7H - wow ! Expected just the black stripes but its the full on yellow and black tiger markings (I reckon you'll need to cut them to make it workable though).

The A-10 is 'basic' in that it does not have the same huge number of parts as the A-7 kits - Yes it's an easy build kit with the major airframe parts coming in single pieces. The cockpit detail is on the sparse side but external detail looks good. Looks a straight forward build with no fiddly parts. On the downside and unlike the A-7, this one is free of external stores.

I got my three kits for £8.99 each - because of the unadvertised 'easy build' quality of the A-10 that may be a little expensive but I've seen the A-7s go for as much as £15.99 on some websites so I reckon these A-7s were a 'steal' at £9 certainly I'd be happy to pay £12-£15 for them (but don't tell the wife).

What a coincidence! :o I got a Dingo on Thursday, too!     It was also marked down. It was the only one they had, but I need two for a Dingo 2 6x6 project. So I had to get another one from another shop - for the regular price. Oh well, can't win all the time.

Got a lovely little box from Archer Fine Transfers yesterday. Within the box were (all in 1/35):

Modern Canadian License Plates

IFOR/SFOR markings (for my Abrams whatif)

Canadian Tactical Signs (White)

Pics from Archer's website. These are unbelievable. They're rub-on transfers, like Letraset, and they are incredibly detailed. Honestly, the lettering for the tac signs is about 1mm high. I have already alerted my optometrist.  ;D

Off Ebay the Zvadva Mil Mi-26 Halo in 1/72

Initial in box impressions are that its a very nice kit of similar ilk to their recent Pe-8 and in about the same size box.
This is a big helicopter but well worth the money.
