Is this the first finished build since the migration?

This is for the SMW2008 SIG theme. RAF 100

A Republic RF-84K Thunderflash PR-2. Of 66 sqn RAF stationed at Linton on ouse in the 1960's.

its the Italeri kit built oob but with the RAF repaint.
66 sqn was chosen as it didnt progress past the Huntres as a fighter unit, it became a helicopter unit in the far east, so was ripe for whiffing.

Very nice Martin. About 15 years ago I built their Thunderstreak in an almost identical scheme using RAuxAF markings that came free with a modelling magazine.

Nice Martin.  I have one somewhere that I'm thinking Israeli.

Great Martin, really great - when I finish my Thunderstreak, they'll sit alongside each other VERY happily, almost like we planned it ! - can you post it on the RAF 100 comlpeted builds thread too.

Nice 'Flash Martin, I've always liked the F-84 swepts.

I missed out on one on evilBay mainly cause the package got trashed & 'lost in the mail' and I got a refund instead of a kit!

Very pretty.  Anyone ever built the Heller in 1:48?

Really nice build, Martin!  Never thought of putting a Thunderflash in RAF colors.

I like the scheme Martin, I did mine using the Belgian colours which came with the kit but basically has the same camo scheme.
If I'm not building models, I'm out riding my dirtbike

It wasnt going to be whiffed at first, this was started as real bird. Just to prove to the guys at my IPMS branch that I do some times build em oob. Then when i got to the paint stage I thought sod em!  whiff it.

A good decision - it looks really smart in those RAF markings.
