Ok fellas,

It's time to knock the folks at Hyperscale off their butts with the coolest what-if F-104 Starfighter scheme.  I've looked at some on the profiles page, and am drawn to Finnish, Sweedish etc. splinter camo.

Any other "cool" ideres?  Keep it on the down-low, no whut I mean, Vern?

Kit is Revell 1/32 F-104G "olympos" release.

I only have on thing to say to your question: RAF anti-flash white. You feelin' me?

Hmmmmm, very interestink.....It sounds most Evil, genetically-manipulated, nasty disposition sea-bass evil......

Ok, realistically.  Tactical nuke delivery with saddle tanks and a single nuke slung underneath??

Still awfully short-range.

Lynn Rigter was the one who planted the seed for my Anti-Flash White B-36 ala Convair Munroe.  He also has my favorite idea thus far.

It's so pretty.....

Tuck, Go over to the Profile Board and look up either Gekko1 or F-104 & see what turns up ;)

Well, how about one in Navy markings assigned to China Lake for flight testing Sidewinder and other missile developments?  There actually were some F-104As flown that way for the Sidewinder development program.  ISTR that the Squadron/Signal "In Action" book has some pics of at least one.

Got two of the beasts???  ;D ;D ;D

An RAF machine would look great.  Might annoy some of the purists (not a bad thing!), as that would have completed the US take over of the British Aircraft Industry.  I'm thinking 80's air defence greys, with a Hi-Viz full colour tail from 74 Sqn or 56 Sqn.  An early option of NMF with hi-viz roundels & squadron markings would look nice too.
I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

I did a US Navy version for the April 2004 edition of Internet Modeler. Feel free to steal my idea. People actually bought it!

4 schemes immediately popped into mind seeing that last night:

Raspberry Ripple
Anti Flash White
74 Sqdn Hi-vis

And----
a similar scheme to the up and coming Hasegawa Draken box art

Now there's another great idea. Do it in a scheme similar to the F-104s. Maybe I just want some white Starfighters....

If you're going to do a USAF Thunderbirds F-104, I think it pretty much has to be Nat. Metal since the white base coat didn't show up 'til whenever they transitioned to F-4Es in the late '60s/early '70s timeframe.  An arguement could be made either way as to whether or not to put the thunderbird outline on the underside as that only started with their F-105s.  Myself, I think I'd go for the more restrained scheme.

Now, for a bit wilder whif, do a navalized one in Blue Angels markings.
