I bought a Revell 1/72 MiG 1.44 yesterday, thinking it was close in size to a MiG-29 & that I would be able to swap bits with my Revell Typhoon.  Oops, mistake, it's a lot bigger than I thought, more like a SU-27!  So what, would you do with it?  Camo schemes, countries, kit-bashes, the usual stuff!

I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

May I suggest a canard-swap? Besides that you could bash the 2 together.

Why not a Finish one, as a Mig-29 replacment?
Later, some of them could be complete with Super Hornet and then received NATO standard weapons, like AMRAAMs, JDAM etc...

Personally, i say go all the way, and make it a SAAB design to replace the Viggen! Now THAT would be cool!

Agree with the Finnish option. (Thanks TSRJoe)

Mossie

Thanks guys. Joe/Mark/Pollux, that Finnish one does look awesome!  I've been looking back at your profiles Mark & I'm particularly keen on that & the Polish (just given away my decals though, D'OH!) version.  I'd been thinking RAF as part of the SIG RAF 100 theme & I'd even come up with a plausible(ish) backstory.  I've got PRC decals too, but I'm going on a decal hunt at the next show I attend, (probably Huddersfield) so hopefully I'll have some more choices in the not too distant future.

I am thinking of building mine as either Peruvian, Colombian, or flat black with white lettering.  I may need to purchase two more kits. :o

Blackadder: Even though you can't actually read.
Baldrick: No, but I have done a lot of Airfix models in my time.

My first MiG1.44 (got 3 for £5 each) will be Chinese Navy, all white, with stores from an Italeri Su-34.
The Su-34...in the process of being built, receives western armament as a Blackburn Blackbeard.

Other options are Russian, Moldavian, South African, Egyptian, Jordan, Israeli, Libya...South Korea?

mossie!

just be careful when put this one together. you may need a fair bit of PSR at the wingroots and the seam
joining the forward and rear fuselage sections together. its not one of those kits that you can shake and
bake, so keep the instructions handy. the two wing pylons you get in the kit are crying out for a large AAM
on each i think.

mine is getting done in RAF markings.....  ;D

Thanks again guys!  Trev, thanks for the tips, I'll watch out for that.  Yeah, those pylons need something , I guess your hanging some Meteors on them???  Don't worry, I'll steer away from RAF now!
