Hmm, what kind of space ship did you use to get your stash from planet 10 to Canada? A Super Star Destroyer?

JHM, you need to repost pictures of all those magnificent builds!!!

Hobbes

repost? They're still there, just one search away.

I hope there is beer in that fridge! Visitors are going to need a cold one when they see that stash !

He lives in Canada. I think that by Canadian Law, all fridges in Canada must have at least one beer, preferably Canadian. Otherwise the owner gets fined and sent to Detroit for the summer - or something like that.

Which is funny because, even though I don't drink, I do have a case of Labatt's beer on hand for visitors!

Where, while in Detroit, they learn how to properly redo their garages into Man-dens, complete with fridges, microwaves, dvd-players, big TV's, and stereos.

Oh, we do that too.  Except that the finished garage c/w fridge, microwave, water cooler, heater, etc. is for CATS!
I love CATS!  I mean SPATS!  I mean T-Tails....there, that's more like it!

OH MY GAWD, LOOKIT THE SIZE OF THAT STASH.
oNLY jhm WOULD HAV A FLIGHT OF kLINGONS OVER THE DISPLAY CASE ;D

But the really sobering thought is that here in the UK you`d have to sell most of the stash to pay for the finished 8 x 2" lumber:huh:

If I ever found a hobby shop with that inventory I would walk out penniless.

Like some others, I showed the pics to The Lovely Wife, in hopes that she would see that my own stash is not excessive.  Surprisingly her only comment was that it was so tidy, so I'm now going to work on the assumption that I am allowed thousands of kits as long as I keep them tidy on nice shelves.  Time to hit Home Depot I think!!
So I got that going for me...which is nice....

DropBear

Bugger! I reckon you have more kits there than my local Hobbyrama store. Like to see your shelves once ALL the kits are built. That will be the real test. Nice selection you have too.

How many kits DO you have? How long would it take to build them all at the current speed?

How many?  Lots.  My insurance company won't cover them without a rider that would cost 1/3 of the kits themselves, anyhow.  How long to build them all?  Like I keep explaining to my wife (and various visitors since the shelves got populated): as a Whiffer, I might use parts from any 3 or more kits on a single speculative subject.  I'd say about 78 years at current pace.

Heee-YA!

My wife thought it was a nice collection of kits, and that it was great that you have room to store everything and neatly shelved and easy to reach. Her only negative comment was that the pink insulation didn't look good.

She also said that if we ever get a big enough house, I would have a modeling room like that.

I love my wife!

That's funny: I used to work at the very plant that made that insulation (Owens Corning Canada)!!!!

Yeah, John... that pink doesn't fit the "man cave" image. You need to drag out your spraygun and get some grays, browns and greens on that stuff. Maybe even a neat tiger meet treatment.

On the earlier comments regarding Canadian beer I fondly remember the early days of the NorEastCon gatherings in upstate NY back a few decades ago. Our stalwart compadres from north of the border would drive down and fill the bathtub of their hotel suite with ice and gool ol' Canadian beer. Spent many a happy hour with the bunch. I still remember all the words to "Lloyd George knows my father."
