Im giving this thread a bump because its in the GB Poll and i couldn't find it initially to find out what it was  :banghead:

"Imagination is the one weapon in the war against reality." -Jules de Gaultier

"My model is right! It's the real world that's wrong!" -global warming scientist

An armor guy, who builds airplanes almost exclusively, that he converts to space fighters-- all while admiring ship models.

Old battles with new weapons hey,.....

i just watched an episode of Mythbusters where they builded what is called the "confederate rocket"
the myth goes that during the US Civil War, the south developed and built a 2-stage rocket, capable of a range of 119 miles, developed to be launched from Virginia to Washington DC.

imagine if this was true, confederate cruise misilles

EDIT: i really need to study my history, especially the roman empire, as i have signed up to solicitate for a spot in the local Roman archeological museum, i must teach people all about Julius Caesar's might fleet of Vulcan Bombers and Aircraft Carriers
on the bench:

-all kinds of things.

Radish

Lte's remember the Imperial Roman Sabre, armed with Green Asp missiles....
Once you've visited the land of the Loonies, a return is never far away.....

Still His (or Her) Majesty, Queen Caroline of the Midlands, Resident Drag Queen

Fulcrum

Maybe another version of the Final Countdown senario is the WW1 Ottoman battleship Yauvz transports back in time to the battle of Lepanto  :dalek: :o ;D
(Kind of a irony as today, October 7th is the 438th anniversary of the battle of Lepanto)
Fulcrums Forever!!!

Love your Roman fighters ...
But, why do you mix Aztecs with Romans?

Based upon an alternate history that Radish wrote a decade or more ago, of a Roman Empire that was still going today, with various other power blocks around the world - Aztecs, Huns, Ming etc. And hence the nod to him in the name of my Emperor ;)  I used it as a starting point, and fleshed it out.

If this goes ahead (or if its allowed for the HOG memorial) Rome will be expanding into space next, with a battlecruiser of the Imperial Praetorian Astral Corps ;)

I've never been able to work whats going with that naked lady on your Spitfire.  Either the black line is just an outline of the leg & the lines on the floor are her clothes, or the 'clothes' are a puddle & she's having a pee..... ;D
I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

Rome in space  - you know it makes sense

pax romana per ad astra!

Roma invicta "Unconquerable Rome"

(going to a bog standard comprehensive, we obviously didnt do latin (or much in the way of english for that matter))

however, the following has a situation one must avoid!!!

cave nil vino beware of running out of wine

In the theme of hollywood sequels and the final countdown:

The Final Countdown: Europe

HMS Invincible is on a patrol of the Mediterranean. Suddenly a strange greenish storm appears ahead of the ship. Everybody passes out, and when they wake up again, the storm is gone, and so is the escort Type 42. A Sea King AEW is sent up, and it discovers a wave of aircraft coming towards the Invincible. The RAFs Harrier GR9s are sent up with gunpods and a pair of AIM-9s, and soon discover a flight of Bf-109s and SM.79s, which are shot down after a litte fighting, but not before they report the position of Invincible.
Then the Sea King AEW spots a German invasionforce heading towards north africa. The Harriers are launched to sink the force, but the launch is aborted when a trail of bubbles is seen on the surface heading towards Invincible. Invincible narrowly avoids, and an EH-101 is sent out to sink the Type IX submarine. Suddenly the storm reappears, and all the aircraft are called back. The Invincible reappears today...
