This GB is intended to cover all the ideas put forward in several threads: Modern Crusades, Roman Empire does not fall, Old Battles with New Weapons and the like.

In fact any whiff (any subject, any epoch, any something ;D ) could be accepted as long as the back history is well concocted, but IMHO special care should be taken in markings and decoration.

With your feedback, I could draft some rules in a few weeks.

Who comes?

Of course, here is the first one.

I'm in! Seeing as I'm the originator of the, "Ancient Battles of Today" thread that was referenced in the first post, I'm very into anachronism. I'm off to drive my hover car to the coal mill..... :rolleyes:

is there any time fram for us to follow, as in WWII drags on so we get F-22's instead of P-51's?

This could be interesting.  Midway fought with Supercarriers (or one, if the Nimitz got stuck in the past at the end of "Final Countdown"), Jutland with the Bismark and KGV, the Doolittle Raid with Loons fired from the deck of the Yorktown, Battle of the Bulge fought with chariots and spears...

Total What-if history here.  I like.
I exist to pi$$ others off!!!

Antietam with Union troops armed with M-16A2s versus Confederate troops armed with AKMs might make the place look like the Somme in WWI....

I do see a slight problem here...
So battle of britain with modern arms...:

Luftwaffe:
He-111 = Tornado
Bf-109 = Eurofighter

RAF:

Hurricane = Tornado ADV
Spitfire = Eurofighter

?!?!? Same equipment as the germans!

What should i do here?

I have wanted to do a WW2 Nimitz, something we've discussed elsewhere on the board, with a deckload of just a few jets and helos and a bunch of WW2 prop jobs. The ship never came forward in time, but without replacement parts they couldn't keep the modern birds flying without cannabalizing.

What about her escorts, if they went through the time warp, too, but to different times? Imagine a nuke cruiser in the US Civil War, an ASW frigate at Jutland, or a destroyer at Actium.
In want of hobby space!  The kitchen table is never stable.  Still managing to get some building done.

Black Prince riding a Black Prince?  Vikings in a S-3 Viking, Mongols in MiG-21U Mongols, Cossacks in An-125 Cossacks.....????

You get the idea!!! :dalek:
I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

I'm imagining Confederate Air Force Albatross biplane fighters taking on G.A.R. (Grand Air force of the Republic) Thomas-Morse scouts.

an ASW frigate at Jutland

Poor frigate :-(

When was jet fuel invented? If so quite a number of modern aircraft and ships would run dry within a short time...

...And a colourful Mirage with the big Napoleon's 'N' against a Wellington's Lightning? :wacko: :ph34r:

But what really attracts me is the Spanish Inquisition Aircraft :wub: :wub:
