I'm in with an M7E8 90mm diesel That will be an M7 priest (old Italeri kit') I will be adding the old style DML E8 HVSS Sherman suspension, adding a 90mm gun instead of it being armed with a 105mm howitzer I will also turn it into a diesel version

The Academy M36 tank destroyer comes with the optional A2 diesel engine deck and exhaust For the paint job and era,I am debating between the following two scenarios

W.W.3-1953 The Warsaw Pact decides to start an all over the world invasion alongside the Chinese communists This version of the Priest will be a stateside national Guard version The unit decided to arm some with a 90mm for anti tank gun duties The reason it will be an E8 and diesel is because in this what of world, the U.S. Army had E8 suspension and diesel engines for D-Day and beyond
Paint will be olive drab and black camo

The other version I am thinking is along the lines of Twilight 2000W.W.3 in the 1980's A National Guard unit in the desert cobbled bits and pieces to make an armored vehicle This one would be painted in the 4 tone MERDC scheme

Or......................I am thinking of the M18 "Super hellcat" tank destroyer That was an M18 TD that instead of having the normal 76mm turret,it had the 90mm turret from the M36 TD According to the Tank Destroyers in Action from squadron Signal, this type was to go into production if the invasion of Japan had taken place For this one,I would use the Academy M18 and M36
Yeah,I know the load is late. But the voices keep telling me to pull over and clean the guns.

the M7 looks good with HVSS, I've got a half finished one done from the Italeri M7 & an Academy M51 (I think!), never finished it before I moved down to doing 1/72... will have to resurect it...

Here's one to push the boundaries - a Hs 129B-3 (see pics below) modified into a high speed anti-tank ski vehicle with wings clipped off just past the engines (which are still used for propulsion), skis replacing wheels on fixed, strengthened undercarriage (rear raised up so that gun points forward horizontally).  And, yes it is armoured!

As long as it stayed on the Asian mainland.  ;D
The roads and bridges in Japan would be even less able to accommodate that big pig than those in Europe.

Panther would be logical in place of the vehicle the Japanese had under development, the Type 4 Chi-to with high velocity 75mm gun.
