I WAS going to try and keep those Phantom lines, but it got away from me and angles just started popping out every where. I figure, I haven't done anything "out there" in a while, so why not? <_<

Eddie Eddie Eddie ... who's eyes are you trying to pull the wool over. As one who appreciates your efforts I have to say that everything you build is by definition "out there". You only know how to do things that way, which is fine by me. ;D

Let me start by saying that I've always admired you guys that have the green modelers mat on your bench. Me, I just used what I had, which was a piece of wood paneling turned over. Due to a monumental stupid move, I knocked over a full bottle of liquid glue (lemon scented, no less) My cutting board was wasted and several pieces to this model were submerged in the mess. :banghead:

I was about to have a nervous breakdown trying to find substitutes around the house. No joy. I made a run to the mega low price store that everyone loves to hate. I searched by the crafts. No luck, I was about to give up when I decided to go into the sewing center. BINGO I found a nice mat that makes my little bench look a little less out of control, because if yer gonna be impotent , you might as well look impotent.

Welcome our newest part timer whiffer, Evan M. He built the model w/ the oldman's help, but picked the decal and their placement himself. Lots of imagination in this one. ;D

Wow, has he ever grown.

Now, back to the submerged parts for this Phantom:  aiyeeeeeee!!!!  Tell me it's going to be rescued!   :o

The landing gear and the drop tanks were floating ! I found a glossy model box top and put everything on that till it dried. Believe it or not the glue gave everything a smooth, gloss finish. Probably because it was melting .

Sounds like you got lucky on that one.  Glad to hear it wasn't ruined.  You were off to a good start.

We don't just embrace insanity here.  We feel it up, french kiss it and then buy it a drink.

Either I get the wrong end of the stick or the above is a contradiction in terms or I fail to see how a blue sheet of rubber defines your impotentcy and yer a brave man for declaring it ;D
I think you need an "R" key for your keyboard if your gonna be important.

That mat sure is clean ;)   Now you need one in every room in the house just in case  ;D

Congrats, young Evan!!!

Eddie, that's one beautiful mat, but it needs weathering

Good to hear your model is still in one piece

After much stalling and denial, it's done. I have to say that I'm not pleased with this effort, which leaves the door open to another rendition sometime down the road. Here's a couple of very nondescript photos and an attempt to hide it among the Good, the Bad and the Ugly.

Well, it's still impressive.  Now, one in 1:48 scale, please.
