Hi folks,

If this doesn't give your armoured whiffing inspiration, then I don't know what will (and this one is a real world jobbie!!!):

Object 279:

Nice!  Take the tracks off & you've got a Martian Hover Tank!
I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

I figure I'd put this thought (aka, crazy idea, hallucination, etc.) of mine on this GB here......

For some reason the first thing to come to my mind was the first mission in the computer game "Jungle Strike".

Player was to defend Washington DC in a RAH-66 against enemy units using camper vans and RV to mount AA guns and missiles......

I guess I just found those kinds of things cute...... "have guns/missiles, will travel" kind of thing.
To the individual soldiers, *everything* is a frontal assault!

Current Hobby Priority...... Sigh......

To-do list here

Winnebago Warriors in post-modern RV-based "terror" tanks?

I was thinking home guards during WWIII or some alien invasion scenarios (that'd probably justify bolting an ADATS missile launcher pallet onto a RV).

Mounting an AA gun on a camper van without gutting the vehicle too much would be a challenge......

Here are two screen captures from "Jungle Strike".

Greg, you are right. This is a wonder. Those tracks were intended to be used on snow. Some time ago I was thinking on something similar to be used on dunes ...

Another idea that popped up when reading Planeman's Return to Tehran thread - what about a Chieftain or Challenger tank with the turret replaced by that from the Tracked Rapier?

Of course the russians weren't the first to use dual tracks - there was the  American T-28:

Nice rear - if I do say so...

been pursuing 217+ projects and came around a German site that seems to be politically motivated ; which is naturally their right to be . Anyhow my contribution to inspiration part . For my part I hadn't seen the Panter 2 up to now .

r16

can't read German , let alone speaking it but
http://www.nexusboard.net/showthread.php?siteid=6365&threadid=296741

might be interesting to see , though as I said the site might be political , rather more than battlefield.ru

Interesting site.  some interesting pictures (such as below) and models:

Does anyone have information about that Kätzchen?

Carlos,

I think you'll find the Katchen was a small APC based on the 38(t) chassis, that is a fully tracked personnel carrier as opposed to the half/semi tracked Sdkfz 250/251 series.

This model is from the New Connections conversion set.  The pic was on an old website dealing with Paper Panzers and the like.
