Maverick

As a couple of secondary notes, Dragon did a couple of 'Paper Panthers', that is with the Schmalturm in their Imperial series.

Another interesting point is on the site r16 linked (great find, btw!), they make some quite specific mention of Waffen SS formations and even have said units markings on some of the models & artwork.  I was under the impression that in Germany especially, the SS and the like were 'no-go' subjects that were fairly closely monitored, with the exception of extremist groups within and without Germany proper.

Thanks Mav.
That is a neat AFV. Thinking in the same treatement to a T-34

Interesting stuff,
however, as neither has anything to do with armor or this group build it would better to post them in another location.
Perhaps General Modeling or Aircraft/Armor/Ships by Topic or Profiles/CGI.

ı have removed the Schneider contestant , while the truck carrier might probably carry a light enough tank ; which might qualify it for here .

How dare they steal my idea, and not include a front and top view  :banghead:

Need to find a donor kit and try and get this done.

yeah, it's a nice, simple concept. I think I might have a go at one too, it would look good with HVSS suspension

although I'd guess the roof would need to be a fair bit taller than in the illustration to enable the crew to actually operate it. I would also offset the gun to the right, like on a Priest, to give enough room for the driver. A composite cast front/welded rear hull might also look interesting...

Dana & Zuzana, Czech SP Howitzers.  Wheeled vehicles are unusual for weapons of this size.
Dana has a 152mm gun from the warsaw pact days, whereas Zuzana has a 155mm gun that is takes standard NATO shells.

Alvis Saracen, (subject for my build), modified for the Judge Dredd film.

I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

Sorta OT, sorta not, but I'm hoping y'all can help me.  Someone posted a link to Wikipedia about some German tank with a battleship gun mounted on it, and I'm seriously brain-farting on where I saw it.

Can anyone point me to that thread again?

Ya mean the Landkreuzer Ratte and the other weirdo critter P.1500 from Zack Parson's "My Tank Is Fight!"?

More here at the amusing but complete wack-job Greyfalcon site:

The bulk of the text is lifted directly from Parson's book, without credit beyond his name as author.

Thanks, but not that one (that actually pops up quite a bit when I looked).  It was some actual machine built, in a museum somewhere.  The barrel was like four times as long as the tank chassis.

Do you mean the Sturer Emil 12.8cm heavy panzerjager?

http://www.achtungpanzer.com/heu.htm#128

Sturer Emil at Kubinka

The main gun was modified from the 12.8 Flak cannon, rather than a battleship gun.

This was the biggest thing they finished and got into service, the Grille 17 for the 17cm gun was never completed,
which hasn't stop manufacturers from producing detailed kits.
