Bell concepts.

1) Early air cushion landing craft design, note the armored gun turrets.

2) Air cushion armored assault vehicle, skirts retracts on shore and vehicle continues on tracks.

Not armored as built, but what a wacky concept. ;D

LVHX2 Hydrofoil landing craft.

Plustech Forest Harvester, Star Wars AT-AT in the real world.  Just a matter of time before someone slaps armour & a stonking big gun on it!

I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

The original walker:

Four-Legged, Gyro-Balanced, Walking Cargo Vehicle

A Syd Mead design from the Interface series of portfolios done for US Steel in the 1960s.

I'm sure the leg design will look familiar to most everybody. ;D

Years ago Jon (had to be back in the 60's), my Dad took me to a Hovercraft show near Southampton (on the south coast of the UK) and the highlight of the show was the simulated military attack by the RN and Marines.  This entailed a whole group of large hovercraft that looked a lot like what is in your pictures, when they came up the beach and stopped they disgorged vehicles and men in huge numbers.  Really impressive for a 10/11 year old.  Another highlight that day was the ride in an SRN6.

r16's Rocket powered bicycle reminded me of this one:

This was an air droppable scooter used by the French Airborne forces in Algeria & Indochina.  It was an easy way of transporting a recoilless rifle, a relatively heavy piece of equipment.  Plus, the rifle could be fired on the move if required!  The rifle could be removed & set up seperately, or the scooter could be used as the mount.  About 800 of these saw service.

That is a pretty good idea Mossie. It also has a 101 uses in todays environment as well. Speed cameras beware!! LOL

No bugger would cut you up that's for certain!  Vespa's have never been quick by any stretch & that machine is going to be slow, can you imagine the cue that would form behind you as no-one would want to overtake you!!!

Maverick

A rather interesting photo to say the least.

The soldier beside is wearing a Fallschirmjager (and hence Luftwaffe) uniform, even to the point of Luftwaffe eagles being on his kit (which is odd for cammies).

Then there's the rather bulky wooden gear around the wee beastie, what's that all about?

Finally, the weapon seems to be a Panzerfaust which is a one-shot throwaway weapon, so what's up with a mount & shield for it with no others 'fausts around as 'ammo'?

Regards,

Mav

A trained operator with the first anti-radiation missile system fitted to a all terain vehicle, first you locate the enemies equipment with the radio direction finder and then destroy it with the panzerfaust, cool
Below is the British version but due to defence cut it may by scrapped
