Hi All
Been [playing around with the Spatz build and ruined me headphones, and have been reading on here about hover tanks and I thought whynot.
Backstory  (aka excuse for the build)
Late in the 22nd century GlobalGov on Earth had decided that the colony worlds would have to send a large percentage of their net product to support the overwhelming population on the home planet. Homeworld had become a decadent place that largely relied on the donations sent by the colony worlds to support them. As the colonists by their nature were of an independant type, that enjoyed the liberty from overbearing goverment that distance provided them, and were prepared to demand their freedom declared independance from Earth and set up their own goverments and were also willing to supply their  produce but at a fair price. Earth instantly replied with force, blocking the ability to free trade among the colony worlds and invading the more prosperous ones.
Being nonmilitary in product these worlds had to modify various items of equipment to provide weapons for self defence, the model represents a one man hover survey vehicle that has been armoured with heat resistant materials from the now defunct spaceships as applique armour and is armed with industrial lasers, armed signalling rockets, and hunting weapons.

(And anything else I can think up)

Basic materials (read Hog in Spatz for the full story)

Impressive work, considering what you started with.  What scale is it supposed to be?  Kind of hard to determine without a figure standing next to it.

Let this be a lesson to those that just toss out the old and broken stuff, recycling does begin at home and on the modeling work bench!

Clever idea. And you're off to a great start.  I doesn't look like it will be very big.  What scale are you planning?

We don't just embrace insanity here.  We feel it up, french kiss it and then buy it a drink.

That's got to be the most imaginative use of an old pair of headphones I've ever seen, HOG! It's certainly got the look with all the bits and bobs you added to it!

You've kept those old mono headphones ever since you stole them from school, haven't you?

This is incredibly imaginative.  What is it that you used to affix those parts to the base headphone shell?  Almost looks like polyester matting used with fibreglass...

Wow ! Like the guys said, what an imagination ! Love the idea, and it just makes sense. I'm with Baz, what did you attach the windows or whatever they are with ? Looks like they're welded on ! ( like those german tanks )

Awesome stuff, to be sure......

Hi Peoples of the whiffing inclination,

Thanks for the compliments. Due to my Grand daughters persistance I shall answer your questions using a new technickcue she has teached me.

JHM   "You've kept those old mono headphones ever since you stole them from school, haven't you? "
ME     Mono whats mono? When I was at school all we had was gram-o-phone, (fade into Lancashire accent and Montipyth scenario)    Actually my Whife`s a teacher, and kids these days don`t do mono, and she got me these and I rewired to STEREO  having done the same thing with wires to my posh ones about a year ago that I bought years before wireless/infrared came out and were just wearing into my head shape for a comfy fit.

JHM   "This is incredibly imaginative.  What is it that you used to affix those parts to the base headphone shell?  Almost looks like polyester matting used with fibreglass..."
ME      It`s just 40thou plascard superglued to the weird plastic that the caseings made from. From the dust etc, it generates static and an oily texture that I`ve given up cleaning and will give a good wash when build is completed. The caseing has a compound  curve all over but the clever bit is that I`ve put a thin sausage of Milliput around the edges that I indented using a jewellers screwdriver to replicate the welds around applique armour and should look quite nice when finished with a dark wash of rust etc.

CAP`N CANADA   "what did you attach the windows or whatever they are with ? Looks like they're welded on ! ( like those german tanks )"
ME       See above. If it suggests to you `german tanks` then I`m getting there.

Hi All

Headcan no more.
A quick squirt of Tamiya yellow green, RLM 02 and some weird brown mixed with the 02.

And finally Mrs Cockrell goes shopping for scale

Enjoy and moan if you wish .  All comments etc gratefully ignored

No moaning here.  That's the most excellent feat of recycling I've seen for a long time.

BlackOps

That is way cool!  Brilliant idea using headphones for the aircushy thingy! Looks like it would fit in with the Ma.K SF3D crowd too. see here: http://maschinenkrueger.com/models/pkh103.html

Hi All
Dug out some old Gundam decals and after some Declin`, Fecklin`, Dribblin`, an` som`painting with a brush..................

Smile for the camera

Considering how old the decals are they went down really well with the micrscale sol/set, the silly grins from an Academy 1/144 Tornado.
All comments complaints and suggestion on the back of a self addressed stamp please
regards Gary.
