How much $$? I'd most likely buy one if kitted.

Nice work, Manbearpig! Love the avatar as well as the model. I'd like to bash that myself, unless your kit isn't too much. I can see it being built in Bue Angels markings...

I recall someone here posting a proposed line drawing of this cool idea a couple of years ago.  Several of us thought that would make a very intriguing kitbash subject but I don't think anyone ever attemped it...until now, of course!

I seem to recall two completed kit-bashes of this design before, though I'll be danged if I can remember who did them.

Still, I always look forward to someone's take on this design.  I can't bring myself to mount hi-wings on a Phantom.  Jus' t'ain't right!  (at least in the part of my mind that'd actually do it... the creative/model fan part LOVES VG Phantoms!)

Looking forward to this one being completed!

Ya know, I just had an idea for a variant of this design:  F-4E VG Phantom!

Couldn't really tell ya... that's not my department. If it gets picked up as a kit (looks pretty good, but not yet certain), it'll likely be done by Fantastic Plastic... take a look at their kits and guesstimate based on what they've got. Best I can tell ya right now.

Wait till you get American Secret Projects by Tony Buttler, the arteork shows the Naval F-4(VG) but the three view aint got a Navy type nose  ;D.

Looking good Scott, is that based on the J or K kit ?, as you could do the USN version, the UK version and possibly a USAF version by adapting the wings and undercarriage bay to fit different kits (Just a pity the Toom kits breakdown doesnt allow for interchangable parts )

An "N." With parts kindly donated from an ancient and othewise worthless F-14 model. There's not much recognizable left of the F-14... the wings got chopped *way* down, with much grinding , carving, sanding and melting with a woodburner.

The undersides of the wing gloves are in process now, along with the recontoured fuselage underside.

I should always remember that my ideas aren't that original   That is one book I can't wait to get my hands on!

Back on topic, any pics of the wing gloves and your progress with them?  I'm getting back in the mood to build another swing wing F-15...

Will be this weekend sometime. I had to saw one of the gloves off and reposition... had to move it forward about 1 mm, outboard about 2-3 mm. Ooops. The underside gloves are under construction, but currently look like rough blobs of crap (because they are).

Do You plan to finish ... or sell it later as a complete kit or as an update/conversion with the new wings, top and bottom-fuselage +++ ... I think a conversion could keep the price lower and make it more attractive to customers than a complete resin-kit !

It would be a complete kit. The modifications are so extensive that there just won't be much left.
