It was my understanding that the RAF getting RC-135s was only an option, not actuality.

yep and the crews at 51sqn are not happy about the idea. They belive the RC 135 is a far less caperble system compared to the Nimrod.
I always hope for the best.
Unfortunately,
experience has taught me to expect the worst.

Size (of the stash) matters.
