I'm not really into WW2 Luftwaffe camouflage and markings but, with limited time at the moment, I think it's quite passable.

A cracking USAF Desert skin for the 'Thud' was released quite a while ago and I've never got around to doing anything with it but decided to use Saudi markings. The double Matra pods are, of course, a Lightning Mk.53 weapon fit (although not quite the same configuration) and look quite cool on the 'Thud' (one of the best stock aircraft in Strike Fighters).

A simple 'Desert Pink' scheme for this RAF Gripen with some recycled serial numbers from another 'what if' and not quite contemporaneous with this lovely little aircraft. Similarly, I'm not really genned up on modern weapons and hope they match.

Real life has got in the way over the past few days so it's nice to post an update. This is a HA-200E Super Saetta with a new green skin by me with the red bands and colourful rudder markings plus 'Red Brigade' pilots. I've just called the manufacturer 'Hispano' as the real manufacturers (Hispano Aviación) emerged from a Nationalist area of Spain following the SCW so, as always, just hand your brain into reception and collect it on your way out...

(You can see what a poor aimer I am)

I'm painfully aware that I've been doing more SCW Republican aircraft than SCW Nationalist aircraft so I hope this redresses the balance... a bit! The 'leafy splinter' camo is a very simple clip art leaf repeatedly pasted onto a grey background and then done again with 45o rotation both ways and then repeating the process twice more but using different colours. It's worked out better than I thought so I'll probably do it again on another aircraft. BTW I decided to make the Blinder a Heinkel product just to fit in a little bit better - lol.

I've repeated the Finnish Star on the fuselage as it was looking a wee bit bare and for speed I've the stock blue 'bort' numbers.

Another attempt at a 'leafy splinter' but unfortunately it's not turned out as good as on the Tu-22. Worth a try though and I know what to do next time.

Very short of time tonight (so excuse the JASDF F-4E codes!!) but our fellow 'What If Modelers' website member 'Julhelm' is the creator of the 3D model of GD's ATF submission and has asked me to do a leafy camo pattern for it.

Desperately short of time tonight but this is the Third Wire Canberra B.6 with a simple RDAF Green camo skin by me (thankfully a great template exists) and new RDAF national markings by me. For sheer speed I've had to use stock RDAF Hunter decals and before I had time to take a decent side view a flippin' Fishbed finished me off...

Edited to add two more shots.

This is the, er, distinctive Bloch MB.210 masquerading as the Bristol Balmoral. The Armée de l'air skin needed a small amount of work to overpaint the French tricolour rudder and was already in an approximation of the NIVO green seen on many pre-war RAF bombers and I've added B-type roundels, serial numbers and a No.9 squadron bat.

I'm very impressed with the high quality of the 3D model of the A-26B - it really is top drawer stuff. The stock silver skin just needed some USAAF starbars overpainted and then I added some NEI markings, an orange rudder, a 2-VLG-V 'Rhino' and some generic code numbers.

First attempt at a Vichy French 'what if' and the P-40N seemed as good a place to start as any! I'd have liked to have done more stripes on the tail and further forward but didn't know the mapping of the 3D model well enough to attempt it. The nose turned out well though...

My first attempt at a Sikh 'what if' and I think it's also my first Beaufighter 'what if' which is odd because it's one of my favourite aircraft and I've made both the Airfix and Matchbox Beau's in my youth. I fancy doing a classic cold war era jet now with Sikh markings but would this be US, Soviet, British or French?
