I'd never realised just how odd-looking this aircraft was until flying it in Strike Fighters!

A PRU Hunter was suggested to me so here it is. N.B. Pictures 1 and 2 have a nose camera photoshopped on whilst Picture 4 is a decal I created as a workaround solution.

There is no FR.10 in Strike Fighters so I've taken the first unused Hunter designation for this 'what if' conversion of an F.6 into a fighter-recce machine having oblique cameras (decal) but no forward facing camera. The serial number is a wee bit late but is the closest match for now just to get a picture up.

I've added some weathering on and some new drop-tanks for the Kuwait Emergency of 1961 that happened just a few weeks before I was born!

A really nice re-work of the TF-104G was released today and it comes with this NATO camo scheme to which I've added some 'Treble One' squadron markings.

BAe Systems Harrier FG.6 - No.17 Squadron, Royal Air Force, 1996

The success of the Harrier and, in particular, the Sea Harrier in the 1982 Falklands War led to several studies for more advanced versions leading to the Sea Harrier FRS.2 and the closely related FG.6 for the RAF.

Hawker Hunter F.6A - No.1435 Flight, RAF Falkland Islands, 1961

Following the failed Argentinian invasion of 1959 the air defence of the Falkland Islands was entrusted to No.1435 flight, a detachment of Hunter F.6's.

I decided to do a curvier version of the 1435 Flight fuselage bars to more accurately match the Falkland Isles Coat of Arms. This has been repeated on the nose bars but with the Maltese Cross and the Coat of Arms added as the centre.

And guess what turned up as the opposition....

A revamp of the MiG-9 was released yesterday and I thought it would make an interesting adversary for the RAF in the South Atlantic in an early post-war Falkland Islands conflict.

Just a quick knocked-up 'Desert Pink' skin (missed the airbrakes!) and more a canvas for my new No.2 Squadron decals. I'm on a programme to replace most of my RAF decals (about 640) with better 'hi-rez' versions - it'll take some time!
