I just had to use my 'V-Bomber' starbar again! As there are no spare 'B' designations I've plumped for B-59 actually Boeing's unsuccessful supersonic bomber in a competion won by the ground-breaking B-58 Hustler.

An amazing 'test range' mod was released recently and gives players an exciting new Desert terrain to zoom around in, a whole host on unmanned drones to shoot down and some very well detailed ground targets to bomb.

Back to my gradual trawl through RAF squadrons and No.24 are another squadron without colourful inter-war/post-war markings.

A lot of F-100 skins have been released recently (mainly for the F-100C) and this IDF skin by hgbn is an absolute beauty so I couldn't resist using my red IDF fin and fuselage arrow markings on it.

I found this skin over at Combat Ace and just added some appropriate RAF markings including my new No.27 squadron nosebars.

I didn't want to do No.28 squadron as a chopper unit so I looked at their more distant past and their long association with the Far East and decided to use the very rare Voodoo RF-101B as an RAF recce bird in SEAC markings. Whilst the USAF's One-Oh-Wonder was soon eclipsed by the USN's Phantom it was a hot-looking ship and I especially like the planform.

I do like putting Soviet types in RAF service and the Yakovlev Firebar is a particular favourite of mine. Backstories for this scenario however are difficult and I get torn between an early post-war Soviet invasion of West Europe or British companies producing the same design in a parellel universe    - Anyway, I hope you like this - more No.29 Squadron stuff to follow.

Gloster Guardian F.3A - No.29 Squadron, RAF Strike Command, 1988

Licence-production of the Convair F-102A 'Delta Dagger' as the Gloster Galant was quickly followed by licence-production of the F-106A 'Delta Dart' as the Gloster Guardian. Entering service in 1961 there were three main versions of the Guardian with the Olympus engined F.3A's only finally being retired in 1991.
