The film STEALTH was shown on British TV last night and it made me remember that an add-on 'Talon' has been made for Strike Fighters. In game, it's a bit too good!

Tupolev Tu-128 'Fiddler' - Fuerza Aérea Argentina, 1982

The significance of the transfer of eight surplus Tu-128 'Fiddler' long-range interceptors from Soviet stocks to the Fuerza Aérea Argentina in 1981 seemed to be lost on British intelligence but would quickly occupy their minds during April 1982. The shooting down of Vulcan XM607 (Black Buck 1) on the night of April 30th, 1982 led to the controversial decision to destroy six of the Tu-128's on the ground at Rio Gallegos by 'Force M' a combined SAS/SBS unit (allegedly deployed from Chile) whilst one was shot down by a Sidewinder equipped Nimrod MR.2 (XV229).

This SEA skin is by 'HrntFixr' and I thought that JASDF markings would work with this fictional wonder plane.

Before making an RAF Desert Pink 'Corona' I thought I'd use my 800NAS markings from a few pages back (but with pale roundels).

A really nice XFV-12 exists for Strike Fighters but it's a tricky beast to fly when using vectored thrust. But at least it does fly, unlike the real thing! The F-13A designation doesn't quite suit the era (the project would have needed to have been started at least 6-8 years earlier) but a backstory could be that the F-13A was meant to be a partner for the F-14A in a 'hi-lo mix' just like the USAF had the F-15A and F-16A.

Like the Martin-Baker MB.5 the CA-15 was a Mustang look-a-like and quite a handsome aircraft. The CA-15B is available from the DAT boys and comes with a 1945 silver skin, a wicked sharkmouth and blue and white roundels so I've simply added three-colour markings and a No.77 squadron crest.

RAFVIKINGB102 by Spinners1961, on Flickr

After posting the B-35 in RAF service recently I've been kindly passed the B-49 with some excellent RAF skins to which I've added some of my decals. I've chosen De Havilland because of their tail-less DH.108 and I'm imagining this beast using 'dry' Sapphire engines (8!!) in successively improved versions from 7,000lbs thrust up to 10,000lb for the final B.2 version.
