This 'double-delta' Xian F-7 was released recently so I thought I'd use it with Parani markings.

A very simple grey Royal Navy skin (and suitable decals) by me for the splendid 'Yukikaze' design released recently at Combat Ace.

I've been privileged by being allowed to have a play with a couple of modified TSR.2's for Strike Fighters and this is the first of the two. You'll note the cannons (ADEN's - what else?!) in a chin fairing under the nose and it also has wingtip AAM rails (not shown here).

Great idea Weaver and Overkiller .

I've quickly knocked this up this VERY basic white skin (no time for panel lines) and Spectrum decals. Perhaps this was the forerunner to the more famous Angel Interceptor and Cloudbase was still a few decades away...

Edit: No ejection seat!!

Some pretty substantial computer problems (thankfully I was fully backed up) have affected me this past week. It really was very time-consuming, immensely frustrating and a bit demotivating but I'm slowly getting things back together. Anyway, 'second generation' TSR.2's have been released by fellow Brit 'sundowner' over at Combat Ace including one with a cracking USAFE scheme. Here's my take on that scheme but with RAF SEAC markings. Nice to be back - more TSR.2's will follow!

This Kiwi A-10K uses the superb stock USAF Euro 1 skin (lovely shark mouth) with some suitable decals by me. I'm slowly getting my PC to normal but I haven't got around to installing my backed-up stuff yet so I thought I'd have a play with this.

I was going to do a much simpler Me-262 for Paran (the fictional 'red' state in the original Strike Fighters Project One) but the necessity to do some sort of template meant that a Desert Me-262 was only a bit more work and far more entertaining. I'm no Luftwaffe expert so forgive me for any horrible inaccuracies on the markings but it would look so bare without markings so something is better than nothing!

My Me-262 in desert camo has inspired me to revisit the Gloster Meteor NF.14 and I reckon it makes a good fictional Luft'46 all-weather fighter. It seems to be Heinkel project to me and I've given it the name 'Fledermaus' (Bat).

McDonnell Douglas F-4C Phantom II - No.26 Sqd, PAF, 1973

In the immediate aftermath of the 1971 Indo-Pakistani War the senior commanders of the Pakistan Air Force (PAF) ordered an urgent review of the substantial combat losses incurred during the short but brutal conflict and the resultant report highlighted the deficiencies in quantity and quality of the PAF and especially of the attack squadrons. The B-57's of No.7 and No.8 squadrons had performed heroically but losses had meant that No.8 Squadron had to be disbanded and it's surviving B-57's aircraft transferred to No.7 Squadron. Ideally, the PAF wanted a more modern long-range attack bomber with low-level penetrability and they put the Hawker Siddeley Buccaneer at the top of their wish list but were given a polite rebuttal by the UK Government who were clearly determined not to actually let their ailing aircraft industry actually export something.

By March 1972, and primarily due to the slow drawdown in Vietnam, the United States Government were offering war weary early F-4C's to the Pakistan Government and an order was duly placed for a batch of 24 ex-USAF F-4C's which were delivered in June 1972 much to the consternation of the Indian Government who promptly ordered more MiG's from the Soviet Union. The 24 aircraft were initially very thinly spread between No.7 squadron, a re-activated No.8 squadron and No.26 squadron but peacetime attrition soon saw No.26 squadron disbanded in 1976 although they were subsequently re-formed in 1979 with F-4E's.

I thought I'd reuse my new PAF decals on something and the F-4C's grey skin reminded me of the PAF's B-57's.

I've added some mottling and made the 'defence of the reich' bands a bit wider. The 3D model (not the stock F-105D) has a few tears in it which causes 'decal bleed' so I can only take screenshots from certain angles. All in all, I've enjoyed this one but feel I've taken it as far as I can but it's given me ideas for future Luftwaffe '46 (or 47, 48, 49, etc) 'what ifs'. BTW my starting point was the excellent Keith Fretwell Fw190D drawings from 'Warplanes of the Luftwaffe' by World Air Power Journal.
