OK, I totally zoned and forgot about this build but I'm in! I also may have fallen off the deep end because I think I'm going to do a dinosaur in battle armor  ;D  I'm gonna have to head to the local LHS and see what they have for dinosaur kits, If no joy I'll have to order online.

If time permits I might try to squeeze something a bit more traditional in too but I'm not holding my breath on that one.

OK, this is actually going to be fun! I have absolutely no idea what I'm going to do, faking it all the way  ;D

Here's a pic of my donor kits:

Basic construction is simple but the fit is pretty good. It is hard to sand the joints without losing skin detail though...not something I can add back because it's quite a small subtle texture.

This is one heck of a green they molded it in!

Another pic with a fig they included for scale (1/35)

First round of paint:

Round two of paint:

I don't know why I go to all the trouble of painting the dino when I'm just going to cover him in armor but it must be the same thing that compels me to do a nice job on a cockpit even though you can't see it once it's buttoned up  ;D

I think he's going to get a saddle that will carry two figs, still trying to decide on a look but as I said before I'm kinda just fakin' it as I go along.

If it came with the Pterosaurs, they could be winged missiles?  Neat idea, nice work!

Looking good Black Ops! I think it's good you painted the dinosaur. You never know, some of it might show through the armor.

I'm enjoying this one immensely!

The Dinotopia books should give you some ideas

I'm thinking both soft and hard armor. I'm still trying to decide If I want to go more retro fantasy barbarian style or high tech sci-fi  so I will probably compromise in the middle somewhere  ;D

I can't believe I don't own any Dinotopia books DOH! I've looked at them a dozen times and just never actually bought one which seems silly considering how many other dino books I have.

Panzer, you should get a look at the Gundam in the background later if I can stay on task, it's part of my second project for this group build :)

Probably won't get to touch plastic again until the weekend, work is kickin' my butt this week and my tail is dragging big time.

IIRC Alvis did some Dinosaur Panzers - Martin may have pics somewhere.

Very creative.  I'm looking forward to seeing the beast in its armor.  Maybe it needs spiked ankle and wrist bands.

We don't just embrace insanity here.  We feel it up, french kiss it and then buy it a drink.
