After a good long session at the bench,[on account of Torrential rain] heres my progress so far, based on the ancient TAMIYA Panzer II that was part of an even more ancient diorama,i present to you the SchwimmPanzer....well the bottom bit at least...

Now that's a nice shape! This looks to be quite promising :)

Coming along well Steve,

And the Pz II is a logical choice for a Sealion build, given the time frame.

Very nice What did you use for the propeller on the rear? It looks like a schwimmwagen one
Yeah,I know the load is late. But the voices keep telling me to pull over and clean the guns.

Is that ever cool !

But you shouldn't use the words 'schwimmpanser' and 'bottom' in the same sentence !

Thanks everyone,
Should have the turret done to night,i have decided to go for an open top with a skate ring ,as well as upgunning the little beastie with a 2cm Kwk!
well spotted there General,it is indeed the brave little prop that once graced the bum of a schwimmwagen.
agreed C.C. ,my bad .....nor should you lisp............

Righto, heres how it looks with the top bit on,

Theres still a few bits left to do,like a canvas mantlet cover and stowed turret tarp.
Now comes the paint, panzer grey of course, mid grey and blue cammo? splinter sceme or soft and wavy?
what would have been a plausable finish for 1940? besides overall grey?

Looking good!  Love the front end glacis especially.

This has to be one of the most interesting armor mods I've ever seen.  I wish I knew more about how you created the various shapes.

Have you had opportunity to make progress on this since your last posting?  This one can't be left to linger (like half of mine... :banghead: )
Styrene in my blood and an impressive void in my cranium.

Sweet looking Steve,

Those mods really look just the part.  The open top is a nifty change of pace too.

Regards the colour, I'd go with Panzer grey overall, boring I know, but given the 1940 time frame, I really couldn't see the Wehrmacht opting for cammied machines.  Whilst tactically they were very forward thinking, for some reason the idea of camouflage other than grey wasn't in the lexicon.

Regards,

Mav
