Hello Again
With the other half of the headphones ruined in http://www.whatifmodelers.com/index.php/topic,18623.0.html
and as they wont let me finish this here

I have to start another build. The source one trashed headphone half

I had started with the idea of combining Starwars and LOR design ideas but it now looks more like somthing from Micheal Moorcocks series of Count Brass books, a mixture of magic and science. Still theres no deffinate plan and I`m borrowing Eddie`s voices.

Obviuosly loads to do, scale undecided bur maybe 72nd as I know theres a range of siege weapons in this scale for wargaming, so we will just have to go where the voices lead.

Keep this one coming Gary!
I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

Gary, that's starting to look like a Cadillac!  ;D    Whatever you decide to do I know it's gonna be good!

With out a doubt, this is the best use of an old set of headphones I've seen yet.  Looking forward to the finished product on this one.

It never ceases to amaze me how you can turn half a headphone into something so plausible, HOG! Using wood on this beast and adding the exhaust cone were truly inspired!

Been amusing myself but enough of that and back to the build. I now have turrets.

Coating this one in wood strip was a waste of time as the grain is too large for scale and has been sealed, so I am trying to give the effect with painting. Scale is now very small and trying to give the effect of those Airfix battleships from my youth.
A bit cheeky I kinow but have been playing with the other half of the phoneset

and follow here if interested.http://www.whatifmodelers.com/index.php/topic,18624.0.html
cheers Gary

Gary, I know your probably going to paint it, but right now it has that whole pirate ship look to it that's pretty cool :)

Hiya,
Will try to keep the heavy wood look as thats the Lord of the Rings feel I want. With the weaponry I`m looking at making some form of middle age/medieval artillery or should I go cannon/high tech to go with the jet exhaust/hovercraft Starwars feel. Decisions decisions decisions. What I do know is that I want to add armourplate thats been Dremelized, more on this later.
All comments recommendations complaints bills for damages etc on a self addressed stamp please, Cheers

I really like the idea of midieval weaponry as it would contrast with the rest of the hovercraft in a very interesting and anachronistic way. Whatever you decidee, I'm going to enjoy the ride!

Hoyhoy All.

It`s coming but slowly. I can`t seem to get the wood effect I`m trying for so have decided to try the armour and see if that works, if not the walls just behind the litter bin filing system. Some time ago I saw a picture, can`t remember where, of some lead foil that had been worked over with a small stone in a power drill. I really liked the cast/hammered effect it gave and here`s my go at it.

Reasonably pleaased with the result but maybe kitchen foil would give a better feel of scale (around 1:200 perhaps)

Let us know what you thinks, come on be bold I`m quite thick. (skinned that is)
Cheers all Gary

I like it.  But don't you need lots of rivets holding those armor plates on?
