Words fail me (except for "completely mad" of course, given that this was supposed to be part of a one-week build - - - :o ).
Magnificent result, though    And, yes, it's just crying out to be placed in a diorama setting

Thanks for all the kind comments.  Hopefully, some further pics will be okay.  I took some daylight pics today including (for better or worse!) some close-ups.

Wow! That's amazing! Luckily my wife knits, so I don't have to go far to borrow the knitting needles.

Speechless, seriously.  WOW.

Never mind knitting, i'm starting macrame.

There's probably all sorts of good reference sites out there but I'm just doing the diorama off the top of my head.  I cut and routered the base wood out of MDF (Medium Density Fibreboard).  The texture is produced by quickly sculpting "DAS Pronto" air hardening clay.  I say quickly as I didn't want to use water to keep the clay pliable (as you normally would) because it would make the MDF expand like a sponge.  So, I had to go as fast as I could.  This took about 10 minutes.  I embedded some Scenics scale stones and poked many holes (for planting field grass later) in the clay before it set.  Here's hoping it turns out.  I've got to put in an order for a clear acrylic dust cover before I forget.

I'm in awe Sir! Amazing, do you plan on putting any markings on it?

A real stonker of a model!!  I know why you did it - but how???  I don't know what they put in the water in your part of the world (which is where, exactly?) Mr Howling Mouse, but could you bottle it and send me some, please?
Yours in total awe,

I made my own fictionalized markings on decals and I have a national insignia but the paint is so broken up by weathering that I decided to save those all for the "pristine" version which is also underway right now.  It will be the same airframe, right down to the many panels I cut out (to be represented by scribed/rivetted surface details on the new version) and the paint scheme (although it will be deeper colors and semi-gloss).

The base is taking longer than I thought to dry....overnight wasn't long enough, apparently.  Glad you all like this build as much as I do.

If we had an 'Unquestionables Gallery', this model would be the 1st, really.
