Dy, that LSF looks like the fuzzy bunny child of a MiG-21 and an F-16 I swear.

The LFS leveraged off Chengdu's work on the J-10, whose forward fuselage in its earliest form did look very much like the F-16.

This was referenced much earlier in the thread; a MiG-21 with Starfighter-style wings and horizontal tail.

The LFS leveraged off Chengdu's work on the J-10, whose forward fuselage in its earliest form did look very much like the F-16.

That's only natural, as the J-10 was primarily based on the IAI Lavi, which borrowed heavily from the F-16 (including engineering help from General Dynamics).

Which wings did you graft onto that one?

What's really pretty is the MiG-21 Analog - the testbed for the Tu-144 airliner's ogive wings. I think about mating a MiG-21 fuselage in 1/72 with 1:200 scale Concorde wings. There's a Revell SnapFit kit available... Maybe Indian markings?

I think Broplan did the Analog as a vacform too, or someone did anyway. I agree, it's a smart looking aircraft and would make a great pairing with a BAC221 model.

How many MiG-21s ended up in the German, Polish, and other air forces post-Soviet collapse? I find I enjoy having the "bad guys'" planes marked with "good guys'" markings, e.g. Axis to Allies and Warsaw Pact to NATO. MiGs in USAF or USN or RAF or other Western markings.  Or maybe some of the smaller South American or African air forces, sold on after the collapse from the German and Polish and other forces so they could buy shiny new F-16s or other modern zoomies.
Mexico? Caribbean nations? Canada! All kinds of ideas.

That inspires the idea of a German Luftwaffe MiG-21bis in a F-4F's Norm '81 livery ("Milchkuh").

That could look interesting, armed with Sidewinders and a centerline tank...
