OK, I really have no business entering this group build considering all the other stuff I'm supposed to be working on and the fact my schedule is crazy right now.....so of course I'm in!  ;D

Let me dig through my kits and see what I can come up with.

OK, found a kit, just need to figure out what to do with it :)

OK, I've decided to dub this aircraft "the Jaguar" not to be confused with the Sepecat Jaguar. This is one of the first aircraft aquired by the "New Mayan" airforce. (Honestly I could use a little help with the backstory, not a great writer ) :banghead:

I envision New Maya being formed after A charismatic leader emerges and gets the people worked up over the current state of affairs in latin america. He revives some of the old ideals that made the ancient Myan culture a superpower in it's day, as a result a new nation is born to regain the pride once shared by it's people. Well you get the idea

Basic assembly started

First round of PSR and primer.

Yet more PSR  :banghead:

I'm thinking of a nice spotted paintjob  ;D

Looking good Black Ops! I noticed you puttied over the landing gear bays. Are you considering adding spats?

Hoo-wow---that was lightning-quick.  Your backstory idea is very clever, too.

I gotta be quick on this one, I'm going out of town Friday and Saturday so I'm down on my most productive days  :o

Looking forward to some serious Mayan camo !

Well, here we go again...

I'm about 1/2 way done, still need to finish painting my nose art, get a coat of clear on it, then add some color to my spots. Add some more clear, print some decals and apply then shoot it with a coat of flat. Then I can decide if I have time for some more details  :o  Running out of time, after tonight I won't get to touch it again until Sunday.  I almost forgot, I need to paint the belly white too!

Here's where I'm currently at.

Terrific paint scheme.

Is that painted by hand, airbrushed or decals?

Ed
We don't just embrace insanity here.  We feel it up, french kiss it and then buy it a drink.

Painting done by hand, well except the base coat was airbrushed, then the black was done with an india ink marker. I'm going to make the roundels (if you can call them that) out of decals but the rest is by hand...and let me tell you...NEVER hand paint a flat white belly because you think it will take to long to get the airbrush set up  :banghead:

Coat one...

Got some color added!

Close up of the nose art.

I'm afraid the rest has to wait until Sunday.

Territorially completely encompassing Guatemala and Belize, along with parts of El Salvador and Honduras and the Mexican states of Yucatan, Quintana Roo, Campeche, Tabasco and Chiapas.

The 'revolution' would most likely be socially based around cultural and linguistic identity and politically/economically based on Native versus European i.e. the Spanish(white) descended ruling elites that still dominate the region at the expense of the Indigenous peoples(brown). This is the root of the Zapatista movement in Chiapas.

Tensions exist throughout the area, so as you say if a leader was to arise...

I hope that the revival of Maya ideals will skip the public bloodlettings and human sacrifice that were the center point of religious/civic duty.

Too late - it looks like the backseater has already been sacrificed  He was there in the first pics but has mysteriously vanished  ;D
Another nice build with a spectacular colour scheme.

John Howling Mouse

Aw, that's really spectacular.  Can't believe the handpainting you've done and this quickly, no less!  To do a symmetrical face at 1:72 by hand is outstanding.  You and Eddie can go into business together.

Love those spooky green-backed eyes.

Whatever you're doing this weekend, I wish you were at the bench instead.  This is quite impressive.

Yowsa that's just amazing, Black Ops! I'm beyond impressed with the talent you possess to be able to pull off a paintjob like that!

I can't wait to see more!
