Guys,

I know I'm a bit late, but I'm cheating a bit by including a HobbyBoss 1/72nd F-86F-30.
It's cheating as it only takes a few minutes to put together, but will make up for its late entry by a suitably worn and weathered colour scheme.
Pictures?
Hell, I'll try to get something, I really will.
Would a cave painting do :banghead:

just hold your hands in the shape of a F-86, and blow pigment around them. Piece of cake.

The cockpit interior of this kit is amazing considering the principle of these easy-kits.
Not much room for the anticipated nose-weight, so I squidged some rolls of blue-tac after inserting the cockpit interior.
The bulk is built (ie, I attached the lower fuselage/wings) after minor clean up and fitting the exhaust.
Looking good.
The nose cone was a trifle tight, but nothing a touch of liquid glue and brute force couldn't cure.
I've built the wing-tanks. These being a press-fit will be good for fitting decals on the underwing surfaces when I build a real one!!
This one will be a very worn, tatty, low-viz Rhodesian AF one. The ESCI decal sheet I have of National insignia has decals wrongly printed in very pale colours. For the Uninitiated, Rhodesian AF roundels were on the British "C"type with a superimposed assagai spear verticle in the centre. These roundels have pale blue and pink instead of red and blue of the correct shades. Fin flashes to match.
I must admit to being somewhat inspired by Geoff who built a Rhodesian Sabre a few years ago in Hunter colouring.
I'll give the joints a slight rub down later and then fix the u/c and other bits tonight.

I love the old radio-style, play-by-play description of the model.  What do they call the phobia re: operation of digital cameras, again???
Styrene in my blood and an impressive void in my cranium.

He, he

Meanwhile, added a fuel dump.
The kit itself is exceptional....a grand interior, which is a shame as the canopy is in one piece, closed position and is a bit thick too. But even the footpedals are moulded.
Everything fits well, but the underfuselage panel sinks a bit deep at the rear. You don't see this from above or the side though.
BUT, it's a tail sitter. No amount of depleted uranium will change this, so I'll create a triangular base for each of my Sabres from card which'll be long enough to do the job yet narrow enough to not hinder packing away/storage.

Spraying later in Grey Halfords Primer.

Looking forward to the visuals.  For tail sitters, I like to put a piece of metal rod in the nose wheel, at about a 45 degree angle (a hot needle bit works fine). Drill a hole into a base at the same angle, and the plane will just sit there, tail high.

Radish

Nice one, but I'll use a drop of superglue I think on each wheel, glued to a decorated square base. It'll store easier (as will the other 20 or so F-86s ;D)

Meanwhile, as I intend to have the whole thing painted by Friday, I can photo it all soon after.
Hey....there might even be a photo floating in the ether by saturday night?

I can never leave things alone!
Now adding sway braces to the fuel tanks andchaff dispencers to the aft fuselage as well.
Typical. :banghead:

Gonna sort the camera out today....somewhere in the ether, there'll be photographs around on Saturday :banghead:

I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

I've heard this one before....usually noted in any number of comedians' stand-up routines as the wind-up to some humorous, anecdotal observation...

 ;D ;D ;D ;D

Just sprayed it, Barry.
It looks damned lovely.
OK, I'll really dirty this bird up, but fancy getting straight into another tomorrow morning after I've put filler on my 1/48th MiG-17PF done as a Chinese J-5A(REAL).
Fancy another F-86F but not sure yet in whose colours?
I read that Chile ordered some but they weren't delivered, Belgium had 5 presumably for evaluation, Iraq had 5 or so, but these eventually went to Pakistan after the original government had been deposed.
An Iraqi F-86 sounds cool.
And some of the late Fs hung around well into the late '70s, '80s....so tactical camo is a strong possibility.
