Here's that RoG 1/144 737-800 that I mentioned the other night. I'm so happy the way this build is going I couldn't wait any more to post.

Kit is a fecking DREAM to build if you take your time.  It's taken me less than 6 hours to get to this point, including the time to PSR the windows.

The Aries lumps and bumps come from a long gone 12 Squared EP-3E Orion conversion.  I should have used these as masters and casted more but oh well.

I have more antenna and sensors to mount before getting to the painting stage, and I have to build the motors in stages to get paint on then more assembly so those will take a bit of time to do, but I hope to have this done quickly so I thought I'd do this as an online build thing.

I uesd Jennings profile as a guide on markings and made my own.  But you'll have to wait for the finished product to see those.

More to follow so stay tuned!!!

Amazing little kit isn't it?  I'm shocked at the degree of detail and finesse of fit RoG is managing to pull off in their recent 1:144 kits.

This is looking very nice already.  Since I don't know which of Jenning's profiles you're planning to use, I'm looking forward to a complete and fantastic surprise.

Styrene in my blood and an impressive void in my cranium.

Agreed, a very nice kit! Ive got 2 built. Just a small notice, the winglets are much too wide at the top. They should look like this:

The base is totally wrong and the size to the tip is off because of it.  Boeing dropped the winglet altogether for the real P-8A and going with the funky wingtip of the 787.

Very impressive! Looking forward to the finale.

Off to a good start.  But now I'm eager to see these special markings.

We don't just embrace insanity here.  We feel it up, french kiss it and then buy it a drink.

I've got a couple 737-800's in the stash.  I think one of these would look great sitting next to my P-8A.

(Yes, it looks drunk, but it IS stationed in Michigan!!!)

Nice pic, Comrade ! Looks kinda real ! Except for the giant foliage on the trees......

Brad, that is gonna be one sweet looking bird. My only suggestion would be to can Jennings paint scheme and build it with a big lightning bolt and some leafy roundels.

Got you thinking now, don't I ?

Anthony-nice P-8.  It would be sweet to get the two of them together.  But I have to finish it first and then theres the distance thing.......

Cap't-Sorry dude, USN this time 'round.  However I have been toying with a P-8 based Canuck machine.  Maybe combine the CAF SAR with the CCG?

And a quick update.  Nothing worth pic taking as of last night, just got the painting done on the engines and added a few larger antennas.  Plan on spending most of today (barring any honey-dos) in the ScooterWerks compound.

Will post pics later tonight.

Update for tonight.  Motors are done and just need hanging and paint.  In the pic you can see the towel rack antennas on the rear and ECM bumps near the nose.  The towel rack was made by cleaning up a 1/72 boarding ladder and cutting it in half and removing ever other rung.  Works for me!  The gold things on the engines are some sort of plastic bead cut in half and sanded way down to make the bigger generator covers.  The real ones are more oblong and slightly bigger but this is all I had!

After I took the pic I got the canopy on and all seams have Tamiya Surface Primer for final primer/spot check.

Tomorrow brings mating the motors to wings, final seam work and maybe a spot of paint!  Need to get the bird on her feet too.

Captain Canada

Woo Hoo ! Keep 'er up, Bradley ! She's really coming along fast ! Love the idea of using an old boarding ladder.....good call !

PROGRESS!!!      Sort of.......

PSR with fairing in the upper canoe with the tail.  This is the last batch of PSR.  It is what it is after the next cleanup-I want this done!

I know I said I was going to wait until it was done, but I really like how these turned out.
