Thanks again, guyys for kind comments:-

Barry - Probably not, new camera and it hasn't got a Macro function. I have my old 35mm SLR handy and will see what I can do..... no promises though.

Nev - As mentioned above, still getting used to the settings on the new camera, the pictures above previously are far more 'real'. The darker brown is actually a faded RAF Dark Earth (the way it should be). Hopefully the next set of pics will have better colour definition.

Feel free, Lee, fill yer boots !

OK here's some progress, decals are on - Hasegawa codes (from a P-51) Aeromaster roundels. Also started another part of the weathering process. If you look carefully you'll notice the 'V' is a replacement letter - underneath the paintwork has been (deliberately) badly brushed-out. Also there are a number of small access panels that have been lightly touched-in with a lighter tone of the original colour.

As you can see, I seem to have got the hang of the new camera now. These photos are so much closer to the true colour of the model than the previous two. Hah !

Thanks for all the positive comments, chaps.

I really like the hand-painted touches on the letters and the access panels. This adds another layer of realism, Ian. You've got a great eye!

It's coming along nicely.  Looks like a good start on the weathering with the slightly off color panels.

We don't just embrace insanity here.  We feel it up, french kiss it and then buy it a drink.

Not much to add except, Beautifull, just beautifull. Love the lighter shade on the panels. Adds just a little more realism to your model.

Dirty eh ???

That's a Paynes Grey oil wash into all the panel lines and some dry-brushed Paynes Grey and Raw Umber direct from the tube on the undersides. And YES that is a replacement engine panel underneath too !
