I've had a chance to look through US Naval Air Superiority and it's most definitely on my "To Buy" list as it shows the evolution of several designs from proposal to flying article as well as unbuilt designs.  From the whif point of view, the F2H-5N which crosses the XF-88's wing and engines with the F2H-4 fuselage looks good and definitely provides background to my F3H-3 cross of a F-101B and a F3H-2/
