OK.  With Fantasy Football, the Champion's League final and the Skua III out of the way it's back to the Viagra.  And here we have some more progress:

And just for Brian IT'S GOT SPATS!!
When I'd first worked out what to do I thought the Viagra timeline would be best placed in the 1930s, but now I've got this far it looks more 20s to me.  I think a second set of mainplane struts look in order, as well as the cabane struts.  Not looking forward to the rigging (must come up with a wonderful explanation of 'internal rigging') - this is why I don't normally build biplanes :banghead:
The 'scrapyard' parts quotient is:
Airfix Gladiator – wings, struts, propeller; Airfix Messerschmitt Bf110 – fuselage, canopy (used as cockpit fairing), tailplane; Airfix Supermarine S6b – float struts (as undercarriage struts); Eastern Express 'Floatfire' – tailplanes (as fins/rudders); Frog Magister - windscreen; Kopro Spitfire IX – instrument panel; Matchbox Alpha Jet – seats; Matchbox Gladiator – decals; Matchbox Wellesley – carburettor intake.  The only bought items are a pair of Aeroclub V142 Gauntlet spatted main wheels.

Wow this is coming along great! Needless to say, I really like the addition of the spats! The engine really looks like it belongs too and I'm impressed at how well you got the struts to line up. Don't worry about the rigging, Fokker D.VII wings are cantilever and aren't much thicker thank other non-cantilever wings.

Cantilever construction for the wings it is, then!
Here we are now with the construction more or less complete (only the windscreen and propellor to go, with the odd bit of filling in places I've missed or not allready filled in particularly well).

Painting starts tomorrow, and I need to photocopy a Matchbox Gladiator decal sheet for roundels and serial numbers.  Expedia has proved an excellent source for the unit badge! ;D ;D

Viagra's done - see the completed entries for the backstory and pictures.  The only additional Junkyard contribution were some Matchbox Gladiator roundels, underwing and fuselage serials, the rest were home made.  Here's some other shots:

You have completely and utterly nailed the look of inter-war British aircraft kitbasher. This to me is greatness.

Nice!  It definitely looks like something that could have been built during that time frame.

We don't just embrace insanity here.  We feel it up, french kiss it and then buy it a drink.

This is seriously magnificent.  Has that one-of-a-kind look that is incredible yet completely believable at the same time (the way a Gannet does).

Wow!    That kit really shows the ins and outs of modeling!!

Well done.

I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.
