OK, did some diggin' in the spare parts box and pulled out a few odds and ends I think I can work with so I'm in  ;D

The main fuselage and some parts from a Buccaneer, the nose off a Banshee, and the wings and canopy from a Gannett will be my starting point.

I don't know what I'm thinking, but I can't seem to help myself

Wow you're going to somehow work in parts from a Gannett? Black Ops, you should get the Leigh Eaton Award for this! I expected to see entries with some very diverse parts but a Gannett?

The force is strong with you.

I got the Buccaneer from Leigh so it's appropriate  ;D

If he can bash together an SR-71 and Gannet...now that would be impressive...
So I got that going for me...which is nice....

Hmm, SR71 with Double Mamba Contra rotating props. Was that along the lines you were thinking of??

OK, playing around with the fit here, this things gonna be a putty monster! I had to replace the gannet canopy with a 1/48 scale fury canopy or else the pilots couldn't fit in the cockpit. It's going to need to be shaved down a bit. I'm also thinking I'm going to have to scratch build my tail fins (thay look to thick) but we'll see.

I'm going to have to do a lot of building up and shaping at all the major joins.

Reminds me of a FH1 Phantom or even a F2H Banshee on steriods..........

Cool, baby.  Love the nostalgic "early jets" look to it.
Styrene in my blood and an impressive void in my cranium.

What Mr Howling Mouse said! This one's shaping up nicely! I really like the V-tail and the nose and new canopy.

Nice work, Black Ops!

Looks like you're trying to spin a Buc equivalent to the WB-57...neat concept. Instead of a V tail why not make it a conventional tail with dual vertical stabs

Its not the workbench that makes the model, it is the modeler at the workbench.

Couldn't have said it better myself. ;D It reminds me of the days straight deck carriers when there was no such thing as a bolter.  :o
Look behind you!
