Some good looking stuff there! I especially like the P-55F -- I had started to do something similar with the 1/72 MPM kit but I sorta lost my way.

What's yer handle over at SSM?

Poor planning on your part does not constitute an emergency on my part...

Holy Styrene, Batman!

Have you ever found the right place to post!  And are we ever lucky that you found us.

Yes, by all means, let me be the first to ask you to share whatever backstories and related info you have on these original designs----that's what this site is all about.  Well, that, and the gradual but inevitable conquest of the world by Canadians.

And twiglets.

Eddie M. (another from the Lone Star State) is going to be pretty happy to see your work, too.
Styrene in my blood and an impressive void in my cranium.

Same thing at SSM . The model is a really crappy resin model of a P- 55 X . I read up on the original aircraft and tried to address all the flaws. It is the bubble canopy, radiator intake ,cockpit , and prop from a P-51 D .The upper breather intakes are the tips from a 1/72 F-80 faired in with putty and the turbo is from a P-38. The point on the nose is an Airacobra spinner.Back story later gotta go to San Fran.

Ok if you like it I can't leave ya'll hanging.I really have to drive from Dallas to San Fran so here is a quick synopsis.
The Japanese attack group headed for Pearl is destroyed by a freak cyclone, The Germans do not attempt to invade Russia. The Axis endevors to solidify it's hold across the middle east ,Africa, southeast Aisia and  China. The U.S. does not enter the war until 1943.

The P- 55 F  is a bone thrown to Curtiss. The U.S. government orders them to develop a cheap ,simple ,lend lease fighter/ intercepter.American mercenaries witnessing its performance in the hands of Chinese and Austrailian pilots demand it's issue to American land forces when they enter the war.
More later.

See fellas, this is typical of what is great about this site.  If you hang out at ARC or Britmodeler, or any of the other sites you see new folks pop in with a build they just finished, and while they are often beautiful and sometimes stunning in their quality, they are invariably a superb representation of a real F-16, F-4, Spitfire, FW190, F-86, etc, etc, etc.  You come here and a new guy pops up and you NEVER know what you will find when you open the thread.

Superb stuff!  I especially love the F-5V!

What was it Bogie said about the start of a beautiful friendship..?
So I got that going for me...which is nice....
