B777LR

I decided to begin restoring my old flagship, a 1/400 Heller Clemenceau. The carrier was built when i lived in Tanzania, and it was full of red dust when i peeled off the deck! :o
My plan is to create an upgraded Clemenceau, in service with the Argentinian armada, as the ARA Buenos Aires  (Brazil got the Foch, so why not?)
So far, ive sanded down the deck and repainted it, and ive moved the superstructure forwards (you will see why later). I also removed the cannon deck on the port bow, to avoid aircraft clipping the cannons (what if argentina aquired C-2 Greyhounds :tornado: and it looks nice too!)
The Spruance Cruiser will be used as a parts donor:

Update! Fitted the upgraded weapons suite, consisting of 2 x 4 Harpoon Launchers, 1x VLS for Standard Missiles, 1x Phalanx in front of the bridge and 4x 100mm cannons. It will be used as a Helicopter Carrier, with ability to launch UAVs.

I always hope for the best.
Unfortunately,
experience has taught me to expect the worst.

Ah, but the poor USN wouldn't have a 19th hole, dry ships, poor sods, join the Royal Navy and get some Rum  :drink:
Nice idea triple seven, what are for aircraft?

Dunno, i think i will have to scratch build some UAVs and UCAVs from some Zengdefu Tomcats, Phantoms and Hawkeyes from an old Enterprise... (i need some 1/400 aircraft though)

Dunno, dont think so. Do they have any Skyhawks, Hawkeyes, Trackers, Predators or Etendards?

Hi there! I think you might enjoy looking at these detrailed pictures of the Ex-Foch, now São Paulo while it was docked in the Arsenal de Marinha just last month. I walked under the 33000 tonne ship, its humbling (and scary!). http://www.alide.com.br/artigos/docagemSP/index.htm

On a side note, if you leave the harpoon launcher boxes located in the way you set them it would probably expose fligtdeck equipment, armament, fuel and aircraft to the fire plume of the booster motor. Just imagine the damage! Also launching the Harpoon across the filight deck also seems rather risky to me! Why don't you move them to the place where the Cotale missiles used to be before delivery to Brazil, on the left rear side under the flightdeck...

Good luck on your project!

I look up, I dice, I mix, I chew, I blend, I spit it out!

Hmm, just had a thunk, wonder how she'd look with a rear loading dock/ramp?

brave good old Foch! Now that Charle de Gaulle is in "repairs" Brazil has more carriers than france - funny isn't it ?  :drink:
King Arthur: Can we come up and have a look?
French Soldier: Of course not. You're English types.
King Arthur: What are you then?
French Soldier: I'm French. Why do you think I have this outrageous accent, you silly king?

Well regardless I would rather take my chance out there on the ocean, that to stay here and die on this poo-hole island spending the rest of my life talking to a gosh darn VOLLEYBALL.
