QuoteOr just enlarged side intakes ?
This option.

Besides, they can be simpler: enlarged version of those of Jaguar.

Carlos.

QuoteTop mounted, I'd say.
The tornaod had an enormous tail. Why not put it into the spine-tail?

Flying in high alpha (AoA) spine intake will not receive airflow, which can be a serious problem IMHO.

Not always.  A careful tailoring of the LERX can provide controlled vortices to feed a dorsal inlet up to impressive AoAs, at least that's the data published a quarter-century ago in some AIAA papers.  Soon after that, though, all mention disappeared from unclassified literature.

I've modified my own Tornado... I had build airfix Tornado GR.4 in french colors with an ASMP under the belly.
But I needed its intakes for my General dynamics 200 V/STOL fighter...
So I cut the Tornado intakes, but as I never scrap my models, this Tornado needed new intakes.
Well, it has now F-35 stealth intakes left by the Mako build
The Tornado looks waaay better with them...

I remember that someone mentioned a super Tornado study of the 90's featuring stealth intakes, among other goodies...
King Arthur: Can we come up and have a look?
French Soldier: Of course not. You're English types.
King Arthur: What are you then?
French Soldier: I'm French. Why do you think I have this outrageous accent, you silly king?

Well regardless I would rather take my chance out there on the ocean, that to stay here and die on this poo-hole island spending the rest of my life talking to a gosh darn VOLLEYBALL.

QuoteSeriously though, why on earth would the Panavia 300 be flying at high alpha...
Evasion?  Handy if you've got a SAM or Flanker on your tail!
I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

Cobra manoeuver, to mistake the Su-27 Mossie mentionned...

But the flanker can turn round and come back and hit the -300 again ;)

That study is the 'Tornado 2000'. Do you have pictures of your modified kit?

QuoteOr shot down the tornado by firing a R-27 to the rear
I would generally prefer a nice starter of R-77s, followed by a main course consisting of R-73s, along with a nice springle of cannon shells  :D

Not actually, but I'll do some and post them ok ?
I'll be interested to know what others mods the Tornado-2000 had...

(from this thread)

this thread also contains some information on the Tornado 2000 and another advanced Tornado proposal, the 'long range penetrator'.

This really give me idea... I love this HUGE conformal tank! And I'm already seeking how building this faceted forward fuselage
Thanks to you I think I'll totally rebuild and paint my old GR.4
Maybe I won't add the fuselage plug (maybe...) but I'll add others goodies mentioned in the article.
another interesting build...

The inlets look like you could take those from the YF-22 or F-22 and reduce their height for use here.  I've got a couple Yf-22 kits scheduled to give their wings to other projects, so I could kibbage one set of inlets for doing one of these.
