Yes Carlos, that is x1 Buchon! I'd love to do a 1:72 like you! Teach me how? I'll post pics of my 1:48 bird, basically OOB, when she's done. It's the Academy/Hobbycraft kit. Superb! Only NZ$22.95.

I finally got out Jeff Wayne's version form the local library and I love it! I listen to it as I work on the machine.

That's right, Thomas! The Giant Hand Will Wreak Havoc!

Thanks mike! *blush*

Zac, you have me sitting ate the edge of my seat. This is wonderful!!!!

I can't wait to see how you bring this monster to life.

It lives!!! It lives!!!

*blushes profusely* Aw thanks for the kind words guys....I just wanted a tripod and thought "hey, look at that base...."

Update: leg part II. These comprise (rear) a cut-down in flight refuelling probe from a Godkno-Swat Mk.IVc, and x2 (front) thingies which could be either railguns  or long exhausts. You decide! Oh, and have I mentioned that these (along with most of the parts in this build) came from a spares box sent to me some time ago by St Alvis? It's thanks to him this build is happening at all. Alvis tribute

Another update soon. Ish. I'd better be quick though cos when they start to move, no more news comes from that area.....

Ulla..................... :dalek:

Love the legs, Zac! You're doing a fantastic job! I expect next time we won't see the Giant Hand but the Menacing Black Cloud instead!

Well done!

That is really scaring me. Would hate to see that coming towards me.  Are you going to dio this? Not that it needs it. I wonder if anyone makes running away screaming miniatures.

I'm very tempted to do a grassy base, and if I had time/materials/moolah I'd love to do a late 19th century farmhouse or something. Half farmhouse. ;). Ruins.

And, with the scale of this, it's going to be hard enough to sculpt a person held in one of the tentacles, let alone running away.

Oh damn....did I say that tentacle thing out loud? Whoops....

Brian, I have after all added some Black Smoke dispensers - "flamethrower" exhausts from Airfix's 1:24 Little Nellie gyrocopter kit. Can you paint cotton? I know the men won't eat it! (obscure private joke for Brian)

Brian da Basher

"Well they're just going to have to learn to like it!"

Thanks for the chuckle, Zac! As for cotton, you could try using some very watered down acrylics or watercolors, or even india ink! Another thought would be fabric dye. I bet your mum has some around somewhere.

I think you're well on the way to finishing one of your best, Zac! My hat's off to you!

A compliment if ever I heard one. Thanks Baz!  And Brian, too! I'll check around for some cotton. I know we have chocolate sauce to serve it with...oh, wait, I'm not doing that one

Okay. My first two-day weekend in my new job. Gotta source some material for the lower legs, "feet" and 2x tentacles. The sort out how I'll make it look otherwordly paintwise and then woo! One tripod!

ULLA! ULLA!

Eddie M.

Outstanding progress! You could do a dio with nothing but sand. Paint it to look like scorched earth, because that's all that would be left if one of your machines came through town. :o
Look behind you!

looks wicked and scary.  Great job.
