This will be my third sponged model, the first being the J'Deet Mantis and the second being the J'deet Locust Mother. I've also used sponging on various flats for a movie set - unfortunately the film was never finished and I've never even seen the footage, so I have no idea what my set looked like on screen... CURSE!

If people are interested, I can add a step-by-step sponge painting guide to the techniques section.

Oh - and it's not all purple anymore, it's got two shades of green on top! And I'll porbably give it a green wash as well.

I haven't taken them yet :)
The step-by-step article will need some photos and since I have not taken any of the stages of this paint job, I'll need something new to do it on... Hmmmm.... what to use....

And here's the anti-radar paintjob in all it's reptilian glory!
I've been distracted by painting up Warhammer dwarves so there has not been much progress this week...

(and yes, I am finally posting inline images. Because I'm currently in the unshaped part of the broadband month )

EDIT:  Just fixing your image tags (all's ya gotta do is put the link between the tags).

Oh yes - I promised a how-to thread on sponge painting -that will happen as soon as I find a victim to demonstrate upon. Nothing I'm currently messing with is suited.

We don't just embrace insanity here.  We feel it up, french kiss it and then buy it a drink.

Very cool, in a literal way. I'm a fan of the sponge myself. ;D

In the words of Elaine Benis, "This model is totally spongeworthy"

Love the paint scheme! It reminds me of something you might see on a W.W. I German aircraft.

Yes! Sponge painting, the lazymans way to do Lozenge Camo! (Works only at small scales)

Somebody's off their meds!!!

Love the paintjob.  It's sort of Minbari meets the Cold War.  Looking forward to the finished product.
