Greg, Scott's kitting the larger version you posted earlier through Fantastic Plastic.  The masters seem to be well on their way to completion.

Fantastic Plastic also does the USAF 40 Foot Flying Disc as well, master by Anigrand.

I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

More fuel for the WHIF fires found at the Computer UFO Network on the WWW (http://www.cufon.org/).

Two links available for the Joint ATIC-WADC Report on Project "Silverbug" (Technical Report TR-AC-47, Project No. 9961, 15 February 1955).  There are some interesting drawings of what appear to be man-made saucer shaped flying vehicles that may have been built and flown.

Some more fodder:

Jet Pancake:

Sack AS-7/Me-400 as mentioned above.  Somebody put together a flying model with X-Plane & tweaked it till it flew well.  I might just do this one!

Sack AS-8, the guy that put the AS-7 together found torque was a problem at low speed so produced a push-pull variant, his own idea.  I guess another way to cancel the torque would be to use a contra-prop.

I'll PM Comrade Anatoly about this GB, as it seems to remain popular but keeps getting beat in the polls by the flavour of the moment.

Steve Payne created an interesting flying sub/spacecraft from the Testor's Roswell UFO and the F-19 Stealth Fighter kits.  Have a look at the build at this link: http://bellsouthpwp.net/s/t/steveplj2/modeltech/ff/thebuild.htm

For further entertainment, check out http://www.stopabductions.com/ it has complete instructions on how to build your "Thought Protection Helmet" to keep prying alien mind probes at bay.

Menkin is deadly serious and used to work for Matsushita/Panasonic Avionics as well as Boeing. Some of the folks I worked with at Panasonic had worked directly with him and related that he used to preach his anti-abduction gospel at work.  :banghead: :banghead:

I posted this pic in the inspiration thread some time ago.  I found it on a website related to that book, where it was named as a BAe Antigravity Aircraft.  I presume this is something to do with the Greenglow project, of which I wan't aware of until now.  I originally thought that the 'antigravity' application of the aircraft was a fantasy & that the vent was more likely to be for a more conventional lift engine.  Seems I was wrong.

If you wanted to build it, you could start with a X-32 forward fuse & scratch the body.  Anybody got any more information on Project Greenglow?

Here's a link to a page with several disc planes from prior to 1943, most of them were built:

A free paper model from Ralph Currell, I built this one few years back and had it until it was accidentally crushed.

and one more

"Ford Motor Co.'s Levacar Mach I appeared in the Ford Rotunda in spring 1959. A full-sized prototype, this was an one-man "flying car" that was "levitated" several inches off the ground by three powerful air jets located on the bottom of its chassis. Planned to be powered by a small-scale turbojet engine, the Levacar was purportedly designed to reach a top speed of nearly 500 mph!"
